Perfect Boxes

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick post today to wish you all a Happy Easter. I am off on holiday now.

To keep you going here is a little box I made in a previous class.

Die cut acetate stamped, heated and shaped and then layered with the die cut flower. I challenge you to try it on another project and let me know how you get on.

All materials and dies for this one were from Stampin’UP! apart from the ribbon which I bought in a craft shop in Llandudno.

For those of you who want to meet me in person I shall be having a stall on the Mind, Body & Soul Fair in Hoylake on Saturday 28th April. It will be at the Hoylake Community Centre at the bottom of Hoyle Road, near the prom. I am not quite sure yet if I do crafts or therapies, both will be on at the same day, nevertheless why not come for a chat.

I shall leave you for now.

Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!!!

Time for Cake

Here I am again. I decided to share another card with you. This one I just entered into Cardmaking & Papercraft’s online challenge. It had to be a card about cake … and you know how I love mine … I found this isssue’s Adam Prescott’s stamps cute, nice and girlie … how could I resist a cat bearing cake …

Sorry, I know it is cute again, somehow I am just in that phase right now.

Please let me know what you think.

Off to ckeck out Keren’s and Florence’s blogs!!!

Happy Crafting!

One Stamp 2 Cards

Hello Again,

I am very proud at the moment. Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine feature me as subscriber of the month in their subscriber special pages. 🙂

It is one of my favourite mags, always full of ideas and tutorials. I also love going on their website to download free papers or just simply for more ideas. If you want to try it here is the link

As a ‘thank you’ I got some lovely goodies, and the stamp I used for today’s cards was one of those: it is Faye Whittaker ‘All Our Yesterdays’ by Joanna Sheen Rubber Stamps. As you will see, just as well that I live in Hoylake an old Victorian Seaside Resort. Those of you who remember the TV programe ‘Candi Cabs’, the one with the pink taxis, … which was screened a couple of years ago … it was filmed right here on my doorstep … almost, more like around the corner by the new Lifeboat Station.

Enough now of promoting Hoylake as a tourist resort, here are the cards:

easy, quick and straight forward. I used chalk to colour the image and then sprayed the image with shimmer spray, which gives it a pearlised look. I added the feather to give the card a light and airy feel.

For this card here I sprayed the background with homemade shimmer inks and finished it off with distress inks around the outside. I used the same inks to slightly colour the flower. The stamped image in this card is more of a background feature. To make my shimmer ink sprays I used Stampin’UP!’s peach parfait and pear pizzazz ink refils and frost white shimmer paint and added some of those to Isoprophyl alcohol. the image itself was stamped with peach parfait ink for a tonal effect.

Other bits you need for the cards:

Card 1: white square card, feather, nellies multi frame – local craft shop: background paper – free with C&P last year; seam binding ribbon – the ribbon girl; rich razzelberry & pear pizzazz card, brads, top note sizzix die – Stampin’UP!

Card 2: white square card, white card, organza ribbon, diamante – local craft shop; corner punch, old olive card, newspaper print paper, brad, blossom party sizzix die, little leaves sizzlits die – Stampin’UP!

general tools such as crop-a-dile, scissors, paper trimmer, glue, chalks … I think you get the idea.

Please let me know what you think!

Have a great day.

Happy Crafting!!!

Notelets Take II

Hello again,

thanks everybody for coming to last Saturday’s class. We had fun colouring in and seeing a different side to cute. At least this is what I hope. As always after a class I feel highly motivated to continue crafting. This time I wanted to try something for notelets. I had these lovely Kate Knight papers which came free with the Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine (isssue 102), too beautiful to be covered up. What better way to display them than doing some fast notelets in a box perfect as a present.

Perfect for a Spring gift!!

supplies: Kate Knight papers; white card, ribbon and diamante – local craft shop; punch, cherry cobbler card – Stampin’UP!; glue. card & envelopes – my own stash

Here are some of the cards we made on Saturday:
