Adorable Kittens

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for popping by and all your lovely comments, they were very much appreciated.

Bach again with some more cards using the lovely Nicecrane Designs Images. This time I am using some catty ones … The Adorable Louis Wain Kittens. As you know, I am simply unable to resist anything catty, especially anything as cute as these adorable kittens.

For today’s post I am using 3 of the 5 images, the other two will follow tomorrow.

Lady’s first … so here we go … The Belle of the Ball on a bed of roses …

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

These images are so nice that I feel reluctant to add lots and lots of embellishments. For ‘Belle’ I decided to use some pretty paper for the background and some feathers for her fan. I then simply added a brad, some die-cut swirls, thanks Sue for your lovely present, and gems. As always my choice of colours has been inspired by the image itself. I really find the colours of the pre-coloured Nicecrane Designs’ stamps easy to match to card and papers that are currently available in the shops.

Keeping with the musical theme … here is the world famous tenor Cattos …

Tenor

For Cattos, I did some decoupage. I simply printed the image twice and cut out the song sheet with part of his arm and layered it slightly offset to give more depth. Everything else was pretty straight forward, mat and layer with pretty papers and borders plus some chip board shapes for some extra interest and a touch of glitter glue to finish.

… hmmm … wonder if he is singing for ‘Belle’ ….

One thing is sure, he won’t be singing for this little fellow …

tooth ache

… who is somewhat bed bound at home. I die-cut the image with some oval nesties and blended the edges with some blue ink before matting it on an oval deckle cut piece of blue card. I then put some core-dinations card through an embossing folder, thanks again Sue for being so generous, and adhered it to my blue base card. I then cut out the sentiment which was part of the original image, stamped and cut out the ‘get well’ sentiment before assembling the card as shown and finishing off with some sparkly flowers.

Hope you like it! The two projects for tomorrow are a bit more involved. Please pop in again. In the meantime feel free to pop by the Nicecrane Designs Blog for more inspiration.

Have a great day and

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Feel free to check them out, funky stamps for lots of uses.

Here is my DT piece for the week:

thank you

I decided to do a bit of sponging this week to create the background for my silhouette stamp. I love using my inks in this way. I then edged the image with brown and layered it on some light blue card. Next I stamped the frame and sentiment and cut them out, stamped and punched out the butterfly, punched a daisy and attached it to the front of my panel as shown. I then scored some embossed lines on my base card and attached the panel before finishing off by adding a gem.

Please check out the designs of the team. They’re as always fabulous and will get your creative juices flowing.

Hope you join the fun at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

What I used: inks – bashful blue, certainly celery, so saffron and chocolate chip; cardstock  – bashful blue; stamps – Just believe (silhouette, frame and sentiment), bliss (butterfly); punch – bitty butterfly … all by Stampin’Up!  … mini daisy punch is by XCut; gem and white card from my stash

Patchwork Pink

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Today I got a very pink card for you which I want to enter in the ‘Patchwork’ challenge at Out of a Hat Creations. Sorry girls I didn’t join in last week, but I was busy preparing for a party, and it took me all this time to recover …

Anything with a patchwork pattern. There would have been lots of possibilities ….

Patchwork Pink

I decided to use a pink card blank, I embossed a while ago (patchwork embossing folder from the Inspiration magazine, Crafter’s Companion), but hadn’t used as yet. I simply highlighted the pattern with some faux stitching, added some scored lines top and bottom before finishing off with a flower (mixed bunch stamp set by Stampin’Up!), button and ribbon.

Hope you like it!

What else have I been up to … I have started a bit of a craft clear out and shall add a new page to my blog to post items for sale, please feel free to check out my ‘Items for Sale’ Tab.

That’s it for today.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Birthday Candles

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments. It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge again at Addicted to Stamps and More, which this week is Challenge #55 – Photo Inspiration.

This means, you have to take inspiration from this photo:

Lots of inspiration there, I would think: candles, colours, stripes, dark background and Happy Birthday as far as I can see at a glance.

Our sponsor … Melonheads will be sponsoring the whole month of July, and each week the winner gets one bundle of their choice.

Birthday Candles

As you can see I went for candles, stripes and dark background. To be honest, this is my 3rd attempt at making this card. Initially I intended to chalk the candles directly onto black card, unfortunately my cardstock wasn’t smooth enough. Then I tried some freehand drawing with my finetip glue as I thought maybe glittery candles might be nice, it didn’t work out either. For this card, I went back to using the chevron and leaf stamps to create my candles and stamped them in versamark onto white card before colouring them with chalks. The versamark pick up the chalk quit easily. It is a good alternative to stamping with coloured ink and it gives the picture a softer more ethereal look.

I then cut my candles out and glued them directly onto my black base card, whilst slightly curving the tip of my flame up. I then rounded three of the corners, added the organza ribbon and finished off with a touch of glitter.

The chevron and leaf stamp I used came with the first issue of the ‘Get Stamping’ Magazine where one of the projects combined both stamps making a candle. Can you believe it, I do not have a single candle stamp or die in the house!!! … so much for my husband thinking that there is too much crafting stuff in our house 😀

Please check out the designs of the team. They’re as always fabulous and will get your creative juices flowing.

Summer Time

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for popping by and all your lovely comments, they were very much appreciated.

As promised, I have some more of the wonderful ‘Summer Time by Agnes Richardson’ cards for you. Again I am using the lovely Nicecrane Designs Images. Initially I thought that ‘Summer Perils’ would be a fitting post title …

… the first one is going to school when it’s hot and one would rather play outside, very dangerous for a child’s mood! … LOL …

This card is based on a sketch I saw on Nonni’s Blog, one of my fellow DTs at Addicted to Stamps and More. I liked it so much, that I wanted to give it a go. Here is my take:

School Time

It is very easy to make and would be a good Beginner’s Project. Layer some pretty paper on some dark brown card and attach to your base card, then layer the three strips across and add some faux stitching (dashes) using a fine liner pen. Cut out your image leaving a narrow white border, attach to some dark brown card and affix to card as shown. To finish off add some flowers, buttons and sentiment as shown. 🙂

For my next card the chosen peril is bees. Bees are actually quite lovely and if one keeps still they usually leave on their own accord, which can also be said for wasps … but then there was a time when I too was afraid of them and ended up like this …

Stinging Bees

This image makes me smile. Not that one would get hands and knees bandaged in such a way after a bee sting, this come more from falling whilst running, my knees were almost bandaged up … hmmm … maybe that’s why I prefer crafting to running …

For my last card I played around with the diamond shape card from Quick Cards Made Easy’s Card School (issue 116). It’s the one I used for the Fairy Garden card. I played round with the design and altered it a bit … just couldn’t help myself …

Sweet Friend

I leave it to your imagination what the peril in this one could be ….

Please pop by the Nicecrane Designs Blog for more Vintage inspiration.

Have a great day and

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Great British Seaside

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments … and most of all thanks for popping by. It is very much appreciated.

Today I have two cards for you, made using some lovely Nicecrane Designs images.

I have been working with the ‘Summer Time by Agnes Richardson’ Set, which contains 5 beautiful vintage summer images, two of which I have chosen for today’s post.

Both cards were inspired by the beautifully hot weather here in the UK!!!

Great British Seaside

This card is a celebration of the British Seaside. I had to use the lovely Papermania Portobello Road Papers. They were just perfect to go with this lovely seafront scene. The best thing about these Summer Time images is that they are already pre-coloured, and of course, being digital, they can be easily resized to whatever fits your requirements. Perfect for quick and stunning cards.

As you can see I’ve only just got back from holiday … still in beach mode, I guess … hmmm

The Kiss

This one is all about Summer, Sun & Fun! The image reminds me of those Arcade Boards where you can stick your face through to have your picture taken. I suppose you could re-create the effect by cutting the faces out and sticking some other faces in their place …

That’s it from me for today, back tomorrow with some more of these fabulous Summer Time by ‘Agnes Richardson’ images.

For more inspiration and to see what the Nicecrane Designs Design Team has bee up to visit the blog by clicking here.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

The ‘Live Laugh Love’ sentiment stamp was one I got with the Craft Stamper Magazine and the stamps used in the second card came with the ‘Get Stamping’ Magazine.

Here is my DT piece for the week:

lots of love

The inspiration for this card came from the little pieces of black card I had left over from die cutting a fence for my Lavinia Stamps Challenge Card. I thought they’d be perfect to do some bricking. Some of the pieces are cut smaller, I also didn’t mind that the cuts weren’t straight as it somehow makes the wall look longer than what you can see on the card. The flowers, gems and twine add a spot of colour.

Please check out the designs of the team. They’re as always fabulous and will get your creative juices flowing.

Hope you join the fun at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
