Nicecrane Designs Christmas

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for your lovely comments.

Where has this month gone??? Sorry you had to wait until the end to see some more of my creations made using Nicecrane Designs digi stamps/images.

Here are my creations:

Nicecrane Christmas I

For this card her I used one of the images from the Adorable Christmas Set, cut it out leaving a narrow white border and edged it with some dark blue ink before layering it on a piece of white card. I then dry embossed a snowflake border on a piece of dark blue card and cut a frame from white card and layered it up as shown. I finished the card off with a stamped sentiment and some gems and glitter.

For my next two cards I used images from the same set:

Nicecrane Christmas II

For this card I simply punched a star border down one side of some dark brown card and layered my image as shown on the brown card and then on some golden glimmer paper before adhering it to my base card. I finished off by doodling a border with a golden glitter gel pen.

Nicecrane Christmas III

Again I used some glimmer paper to show off a punched border as my background for this lovely image.

My next card uses one image from the Retro Christmas Set:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I printed the image 3x and cut two of the images along the tree as you can see in the picture before layering them as shown on a piece of red card. I the die-cut my border from white card, stamped the sentiment and layered all elements on my blue base card as shown before finishing off by adding some glitter.

All of them are quick and easy makes. Hope you like them. Back with lots more inspiration on Nicecrane Designs Images next week.

Until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Here is my creation for this week:

Magic Mushrooms

I love this little stamp, it can be used for many occasions. I stamped directly onto my white card and stamped the image again on a separate piece, I coloured the mushrooms, butterfly and the grass using Promarkers. I cut out the little flower shape and rectangle with my craft knife and doodled the dashed dotted border, rounded the edges and attached it to a piece of red card using 3D foam. As you can see the red card shows through the cut out flower and rectangle.

I then coloured and decoupaged the mushroom hats, shaped them and attached them in place using 3D foam pads before finishing off by adding a few red gems.

Over to you now. Hope you feel somewhat inspired as I’d love to see your creations.

If you need more inspiration check out the fabulous projects by the very talented DT Ladies at ATSM.

That’s it from me for today.

Here is what I used: Stamps from Woodware,; real red card from Stampin’Up!, gems, white card, Promarkers and fine liner pen from my stash

Wishing Tree in Blum

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments. They were very much appreciated.

Back today with a short post only, my entry to the Lavinia Stamps Blog challenge which this month is ,,, add a flower.

… so I thought given that Spring is fast approaching, in the southern hemisphere of course, I should go for a tree in blossom …

Wishing Tree in Blum

I normally prefer this tree simply stamped directly on my card wit a doodled border, buy I thought I would try and do something different and go for a layered card using some pretty paper which I don’t use that often. Hope you like it.

Also I am looking forward to next week’s Stamp Fair in Port Sunlight organised by Happy Stampers Northwest. Will let you know which goodies I treated myself to.

Back on Wednesday with my DT piece for the next challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, which will be addicted to CAS.

See you then.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Card Class Makes

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments.

Today I would like to share something from today’s card class with you. As you probably know, I intended to make a Lever Card inspired by a tutorial by Laura Lipe, which you can find HERE.

As always I had to tweak it and do it my way. It went from rectangle to square and from using paper to a stamped background.

Lever Card I

This is the card I originally made. In the class I wanted to demonstrate how the look can change a lot by changing just a couple of things. For my next card I used a different flower for the background, changed the colours and didn’t round all the edges.

Lever card II

As you can see I also positioned the flowers slightly differently and added an extra faux stitched border. Here they are both together:

Lever Card III

I really couldn’t say which one I prefer.

Hope you like them.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Stamping!!! 🙂

For the card with the more autumnal feel I used: Dahlia stamp from Crafter’s Companion Inspirations Magazine; crushed curry, tangerine tango, chocolate chip ink and tangerine tango card from Stampin’Up!; flowers, sentiment and swirl stamps as above; everything else from my stash

It’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. It is challenge #63 which means colour inspiration!!! I love playing round with different colours, especially if it means using different ones from the ones I feel naturally drawn to. The colours for this week’s challenge are:

Here is my creation for this week:

Spiced Paisley Birthday

I randomly stamped my background in crumb cake, rounded one corner and blended the edges with crumb cake. I then cut a piece of riding hood red and another one of marina mist card, punched a border along one side each and mat and layered them onto a white base card. I attached a piece of marina mist ribbon and stamped the sentiment in black. To finish I stamped the larger paisley shape twice, cut it out and layered it as shown in the picture and added some glitter details using a gel pen. You might have to click on the picture and zoom in to see this detail as it doesn’t show well in the picture.

Over to you now. Hope you feel somewhat inspired as I’d love to see your creations.

I found this lovely girlie image called Cupcakes Anyone in The Paper Nest Dolls’ shop a couple of weeks ago … and here is my DT piece using it:

Cupcakes Anyone

I coloured the image using some Promarkers before die cutting the shape. Then I used my favourite technique for adding a faux layer, which works well if the image you’re using fills the frame well. I pierced a border as a frame inside my cut out shape making sure to omit the bits of my image which are ‘overlapping’ my pierced border. I then mat and layered my image on die-cut and pierced pink card.

For the background, I cut some strips of patterned paper and layered them on light pink card. I finished my card as shown by adding die-cut shapes and a flower.

Over to you now. I love to see your creations.

If you need more inspiration check out the fabulous projects by the very talented DT Ladies at ATSM.

That’s it from me for today.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Cupcake Anyone

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments. Hope you all had a nice summer, unless you’re on holiday right now, which means you’re still having a nice summer. It has gone cold here over the last couple of days with all that rain moving in … on the upside it means more time for crafting as the outdoor activities slow down or come to their natural Winter Break.

I have a quick card for you today, which I emailed to the Quick Cards Made Easy for their Facebook Monthly Sketch Challenge

There's still time to get your sketch challenge entries in! If you fancy seeing your card in print, just email your take on this sketch to quickclubs@immediate.co.uk

… it is very pink and girly or shall I say for cake lovers …

Cupcake Anyone

I was working on a card for next week’s ATSM challenge using this lovely digi stamp from The Paper Nest Dolls, when I had the inspiration for working with the sketch. It is something I’ve never done before as I usually find it challenging to get my head around other people’s ideas. Maybe I am just too strong willed … or is it that I am too set in my ways … who knows. 😀

Leaving you to muse that one …

Have a great weekend and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
