Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments.

It is time for the first Sketch Challenge of the year at STAMPlorations, and this is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

I played round with it in my mind … and then it just so happened that some of this month’s new release stamps arrived … and instead of using paper for the banners, I did some stamping … here is my creation:

Dancing Couple

Well, I thought I’d use this lovely couple from the Ever After Stamp Set which is part of the Vignette Range to make a somewhat non-traditional engagement card. I combined it with one of the new sets called Graphic Squares from the Patchwork Frenzy Range. To make a change from stamping on white or cream card, I printed off some matching paper from the Vintage Ice Cream Social Digital Paper range from All About Scrapping.

I cut my paper to the required size and masked off the banner shapes and slightly sponged around the edges before stamping each individual one in green, orange and red adding the stamped stitching in brown as I went along. I fact I liked stamping the stitching so much that I even used it to create a border on two sides.  I then stamped the couple and sentiment in brown before sponging with red and brown along the outsides and layering my creation on a red base card.

Hope you like it.

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

Happy Stamping!!!

  2. Hi Monika! Just had to come by to tell you how I love this card – the stamping of the banners, the silhouette, the brownish tones. And then the great sentiment (love the font).

  3. Hi again Monika! 🙂 I love your take on the sketch and your use of the new stamps -this silhouette is so very beautiful too. Great card!
