ATSM Challenge 77

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. Christmas is well and truly over, even though the cold I picked up is still linering, and the New Year is underway … and with this it is time for our first challenge of the year 2014 at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #77 – Make your Mark!!!

This Challenge is all about using your markers and pens, the full details of the challenges and their rules can be found here.

Our sponsor this week is Deedee’s Digis.

The winner will receive 3 digi sets of their choice.

Here is my DT piece for this week:

Metallic Gelatos I

Well I actually ended up making two. I was playing with my Metallic Gelato Pens. For the first card I simply scribbled them on some card and brushed a damp paintbrush over the top and left it to dry. Once dry I inked up my stamp, Sketch Flower13 Papermania Hampsted by docrafts, with black Memento Ink, stamped the flower and cut it to size, layered it on a piece of black card and attached it to my embossed base card before finishing off with a sequin. I used a texture plate (Texturz by Sizzix) for a softer finish than I would get using an embossing folder, you can get a similar effect using a mask or thin stencil combined with a soft embossing mat suitable for your die cut machine.

Metallic Gelatos II

For my second card I used the Gelatos to colour my stamp, I ten moistened it with a damp brush and stamped onto white card, cut it to size and layered on black. I attached the paper ribbon which I cut from a piece of digital paper by All About Scrapping to my embossed base card before layering my image on top using 3D foam.

The Metallic Gelatos are very iridescent, sadly you can’t see it that well on the picture, and suit the CAS style of card very well.

Hope you like it!

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Make your Mark’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Please join the fun … look forward to seeing your creations … and

Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments.

It is time for the first Sketch Challenge of the year at STAMPlorations, and this is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

I played round with it in my mind … and then it just so happened that some of this month’s new release stamps arrived … and instead of using paper for the banners, I did some stamping … here is my creation:

Dancing Couple

Well, I thought I’d use this lovely couple from the Ever After Stamp Set which is part of the Vignette Range to make a somewhat non-traditional engagement card. I combined it with one of the new sets called Graphic Squares from the Patchwork Frenzy Range. To make a change from stamping on white or cream card, I printed off some matching paper from the Vintage Ice Cream Social Digital Paper range from All About Scrapping.

I cut my paper to the required size and masked off the banner shapes and slightly sponged around the edges before stamping each individual one in green, orange and red adding the stamped stitching in brown as I went along. I fact I liked stamping the stitching so much that I even used it to create a border on two sides.  I then stamped the couple and sentiment in brown before sponging with red and brown along the outsides and layering my creation on a red base card.

Hope you like it.

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

Happy Stamping!!!

Dreaming Butterflies

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments.

I have been playing round with using sketches, and, whilst I was doing so, I created a lovely card I would like to share with you. It a sort of developed from the sketch and took it beyond.

I rather like the idea of the butterfly burst and might use it to finish off a small canvas, I started a while ago.

I used some pretty digital papers from All About Scrapping to stamp on. These have a perfectly plain but textured and shaded look, just perfect for stamping on, you can find them here. The beautiful butterflies and sentiments are all from one set called Artful Flutters by STAMPlorations, and you can find it here. I combined it with my favourite Mini Stamp from Lavinia Stamps, found here, which I used to create the starry background.

For this card I used some simple and effective stamping and fuzzy cutting of the butterflies, blended the edges of my paper with brown ink and adhered it to my base card. I slightly blended the cut-out butterflies with brown ink and off-set two of them when I attached them over the ones I had stamped on my purpely paper. To finish I simply added some dark pink gems.

Have a lovely weekend everybody and

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Stamps and Feathers

Happy New Year Everybody!!!

Hope you all had a great Christmas too.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and for all the lovely comments you left.

This is my first post for the new year and my first post designing for STAMPlorations. It is time to ring in their January challenge with the theme ‘Stamps and Feathers’.

The winner will receive 2 Vignette or Patchwork Frenzy clear stamp sets of her choice. (Visit their shop to see the available stamp sets.) Also, the winner will be invited to be the Guest Designer in next month’s challenge!!!
There is a twist to the challenges …
Each month at STAMPlorations, we host 3 challenges: 1 monthly challenge that starts on the 1st Friday and 2 bi-weekly sketch challenges that start on the 1st and 3rd Monday. Those who participate in all 3 challenges for the month will be in the running to receive a prize package from our sister shop, All About Scrapping. We’ll randomly pick one winner and announce who that is the following month before the next monthly challenge starts. Remember, you must participate in all 3 challenges that month for a chance to win a prize.
How is that for being in it to win it!!!!

January 3 – Stamps and Feathers
(ends January 31; winner announced Feb 4)

I have used their Trendy Feathers set from the Vignette range for my creations.

Trendy Feathers I

As you can see I have also set myself the challenge to work with blue, a colour I don’t tend to use naturally.

For the above card I first stamped the light blue feathers and then stamped feathers again with Versamark and embossed tem with sparkly white embossing powder. I then used a shaving brush to bend light blue ink around the feathers to highlight them before adding a touch of dark blue ink to the edge. I stamped my sentiment in dark blue on a separate piece of card and trimmed it into a banner shape. I then layered my elements on light blue base card and added some twine and charm to finish.

Trendy Feathers II

For the above card I inked my feather stamp with blur ink and stamped the three feathers without re-inking in between. I then used a marker to colour the ‘a note’ part of the ‘Just a note’ sentiment from the set and stamped it in front of my feather before adding the three dots. I punched a border down one side of my light blue base card and layered as shown before adding a border and some highlights with a glitter gel pen.

Trendy Feathers III

For this card here I used again the stamping off technique to stamp my feathers before scoring a couple of lines and stamping my sentiment. I then layered it on my base card and added the rolled over corners and gem to finish.

Hope you enjoyed my creations. Please pop over to the Stamplorations Challenge Blog to enter your feathery creation and of course to see all the lovely projects of my DT Teamies.

Look forward to seeing your creations!

Happy Crafting!!!
