Stamp Festival Treasures

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments, they were very much appreciated.

As some of you already know, I went to my local Stamp Festival at Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight last Saturday and came home with some goodies of course.

I count myself very lucky indeed to have such an event on my doorstep, well a 20 min drive away. It was very busy, but it was great to see some new artists showcasing their gorgeous stamps. Needless to say I had a ball ….

Here is a card I made using one of my new goodies …

Take Time

The set I used is called ‘Flowers Grow’ and is by Crafty Roo Designs.

For this one-layer card, I inked an acrylic block with bashful blue and pistachio pudding and stamped directly on my base card. I then used wild wasbi and marina mist markers to colour my stamps to stamp the growing plant, flower and sentiment.

I like the card in it’s simplicity and for the soft almost watercolour look. Initially I thought about adding a doodled frame, that was before I finished stamping. I now feel that it would be too heavy and detract from the simple beauty.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

House of Cards – photo inspiration, any style

CAS(E) this sketch –

Hope you feel inspired! Back soon … until then

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

Wonder what Holiday you’ll be choosing! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

The fabulous Shery from STAMPlorations is sponsoring again. The winner will receive a stamp set called “It’s all about You”, You can check out all her fab stamps in her shop here.

This week Anni from Annikarten joins us again as our guest designer …

and I pushed the boat out making two projects to inspire you,

here they are:

Happy Easter 1

Happy Easter 2

For my first card, I went for white with a splash of colour. I edged the front right hand side of my tent fold card with a pretty punch (Xcut by docrafts) and stamped my flowers using the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals Set from our sponsor STAMPlorations on a separate piece of white card, stamped my sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes by SU) in black, attached some ribbon and added it to my base card using 3D foam pads.
For my second card I used the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals Set again to stamp my blossoms in yellow and the clear emboss them on pearlised card before blending the edges with some yellow and stamping the stems and leaves in green. I then stamped my sentiment (freebie from past issue of Creative Stamping Magazine) twice, slightly off set the second time to give the illusion of depth, added some faux stitching and layered first on a pice of green and then on my base card.
You might have noticed that my faux stitching doesn’t go over the flowers, I did this to give added depth without having to add another layer.
Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Holiday’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Please join the fun … look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

Singing in the Rain

and playing along at Time Out

Hi Everybody,

thanks so much for your lovely comments, they are all very much appreciated.

Hope you like my new look! If you’re looking for my pages/sidebar, simply click the little circles at the top and there they are. It needs a bit more tidying and re-organizing, but I like it. How about you? Please let me know …

Over the last few days I have been trying something new in the way of editing photos. I downloaded an app for my phone called Pixlr Express, you might have seen the recent pictures I posted on Facebook, it’s a lot of fun. Well I’m now having a go at trying out different ways of posting my pictures on WordPress too.

I simply took my picture with my mobile instead of my separate camera, edited my pic using my pixlr app and was able to upload it directly to my library on WordPress … Yeah!!!

Cardmaking & Papercraft had a post on their Facebook page yesterday about the importance of watermarking the pictures of one’s work. Well following on from that too, I decided to make my watermark larger.

Here is what I ended up with:

wpid-DSC_0227.jpg

Still a bit of fine tuning to do, but very pleased with my first attempt!

Yes, I would like to enter this card in the Dancing in the Rain Challenge at TIME OUT.

I came across this little turtle whilst searching for some digis to use for some DT projects. I found this little cutie here at QKR Stampede and found her/him irresistable. Exactly that’s why! It is one of those digis that can be used very flexibly for male – female – young – old the choice is yours.

She turned out to be female for this one more out of my own curiosity, when, after I had already coloured her in, I used a pale pink brush marker to give her some eye shadow followed by red lips and finger nails with added glitter on her shell for the glam effect.

I then simply stamped my sentiment, die cut and embossed some yellow card and added some faux stitching. I then layered my image on artichoke card stock, added my doily and my promarker coloured floral corner, which I cut over the weekend using my eclips, layered everything as shown and finished off by adding some sequins, a bargain buy from Poundland on Monday. 🙂

That’s another story …

Back Soon, until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

here is what else I used:

sentiment from VIGNETTE Chevron and Arrows set by STAMPlorations

Doily, Sizzix framelits, early espresso, riding hood red and pink pirouette Stamp’n’Write Markers, always artichoke and so saffron card stock all by Stampin’Up!

Sizzix Texturz embossing plate, Sunflower Photo Corner from Sizzix All Occasion Cartridge for Eclips all from Sizzix

Woodware medium daisy punch and Craftwork Cards shaped base card from local craft shop

Lacy Sunshine

Hi Everybody,

this is my fourth and last post of today, had to do some catching up … lol

Well I recently cam across the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog and thought I’d play along, I made a card using one of their cutie images and didn’t get it ready in time to post …

… luckily, they have an Anything Goes Challenge on at the moment …

so here is my card:

girl with daisy hat card outside

Where is the cutie image, I can hear you say … well, here she is …

girl with daisy hat inside card

The gate fold outer card once opened gives this cutie her grand entrance.

The little beauty is Gemma’s Spring Gumdrops by Lacy Sunshine and coloured using Promarkers.

The sentiment is from the MOM SUBWAY ART BUILDER #4 by STAMPlorations, daisy ribbon punch by Tonic Studio and all other flower punches from Stampin’Up!

The oval dies are Nesties from Spellbinders and the pretty paper was a freebie from a magazine, sorry can’t remember which one.

Hope you enjoyed this little inspiration.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

More Kittens

Hi Everybody,

back with my third post of the day …

I know I could have combined my cards, but I wanted each of them to stand out on their own.

more kittens

You might remember the image by A Day for Daisies from a recent post of mine. For this card here I used some patchwork papers for the background hence I allowed for more white card around the image. I then simply finished off with a flourish, some faux stitching, daisies and gems.

I would like to enter this one into the Childhood Challenge at Moo-Mania.

Enjoy and

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Heartfull of Buttons

Hi Everybody,

welcome to my second post for today.

Tanks for popping by and leaving such lovely comments.

Yes, you might have guessed from my first post today (the handbag), I had the Eclips  out to play yesterday. Mind you, about time too. I’ve had the machine for a few years now and hardly used it. I cut some shapes, I’m hoping to use in forthcoming projects. Watch this space!

Oh, before I move on to the cards … if you live in the UK and want a crafty day out this coming Saturday, 29th March, I got a spare ticket for the Stamp Fair at Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight, Wirral, it is a ticket only event organised by Happy Stampers North West, a FAB Day Out.

If you’re interested, please leave a comment and I shall get back to you asap. First come, first served basis only.

Now to my card, which I want to enter into the House of Cards Challenge for CAS and/or Classic Elegant plus add a button

heartfull of buttons

As you can see there is more than one button added. 🙂

The heart is a stamp by Woodware, a gift from the lovely Sue, and is perfect for adding buttons, pearls, Card Candi etc. I simply layered three strips of Washi tape, stamped (Artiste Evergreen Pigment ink by docrafts) and clear embossed my heart before fuzzy cutting and layering it on my card. I then rounded a corner and added a length of pink ricrac ribbon plus buttons, pearls and sequins to finish.

Enjoy!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Happy 50th, Maria!

ATSM Challenge 87

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #87 – Make your Mark!!!

I know you love using your markers and anything else you can colour with! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

The fabulous Shery from STAMPlorations is sponsoring again. The winner will receive a stamp set called “It’s all about You”, You can check out all her fab stamps in her shop here.

This week Anni from Annikarten joins us as our guest designer … Herzlich willkommen, Anni! … that’s about as much German as I remember …

Joke aside, here is my DT piece for this week:

Butterfly Kisses

I worked with the VIGNETTE Artful Flutters stamp set again and the MOM SUBWAY ART BUILDERS #5 – Unconditional Love to create this one-layer card on Watercolour Paper. The butterflies are coloured with Metallic Gelatos, alittle bit of water added and then stamped. Before stamping I prepared the card with pale colour washes roughly the shape of butterflies and a very pale blue wash all over the card. Once dry, I coloured only the ‘Butterfly Kisses’, the stamp has 4 more sentiments on it, using my Elegant Eggplant Stamp’n’write Marker and stamped on the bottom right hand corner of my card. To finish off, I simply rounded three of the corners. The metallic gelatos are so sparkly, it is a shame it never looks it in a picture. Anyway I felt the card didn’t need anything else adding, I like it the way it is … hope you like it too!
I would like to enter this card into the One Layer Simplicity Challenge, where you’re required to ‘just add water’.
Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Make your Mark’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Please join the fun … look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!
🙂
Here is what I used:
Metallic Gelatos by Faber-Castell – all 4 colours
Elegant Eggplant Stamp’n’Write Marker by Stampin’Up!
Watercolour card from stash
Zutter Round-it-all corner punch

Sketch 8 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also be welcoming Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretation …

MOM 2

I used the MOM stamp from the new SUBWAY ART BUILDER range, more details can be found here  … and stamped it in two different colours before chopping my images up to create banners. I only used three which means there is plenty left for some more cards! 🙂 I am so excited about these stamps, simply because they are so versatile, you can stamp them as a whole, colour each line with a different marker, only use one of the sentiments, chop them up … I would say you’re only limited by your imagination!

For my background I used my favourite DSP, Love and Lipstick Tricks a digital paper from our sister shop  All About Scrapping who is also the sponsor of our prize. I also cut a small piece of pink card and stamped one of the small flowers from the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals stamp set on a scrap of white card and fuzzy cut it. I then layered my elements as can be seen in the photo on my white tent fold base card and added my flower, gem and sequins to finish …

Hope you like my card and feel inspired …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

As always there is an extra prize up for grabs each month. If you enter all 3 challenges, two sketch plus one monthly, in March, you’ll be in with a chance of winning these fab Washi Tapes …

… more details can be found here.

Happy Stamping!!!

Here is what else I used:

Mom Stamp and VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals Stamp set by STAMPlorations

Love and Lipstick Tricks digital paper from All About Scrapping

strawberry slush ink pad from Stampin’Up!

everything else from my stash

Quiet Strength

Hello Everybody,

thanks for popping by and leaving such lovely comments.

Today I have been playing with some STAMPlorations stamps mainly to get a project done which I could enter into the CASology Challenge, where the code word is ‘roots’.

Shery from STAMPlorations is sponsoring the challenge, and I am counting myself very lucky indeed to be on her DT. I thought that this would be a good opportunity to show off some of her stamps.

For my first card I combined the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes with one of the new  Mom Subway Art #3 to create this ethereal card …

Quiet Strength

… I simply stamped one of the tree stamps three times in Wild Wasabi ink (Stampin’Up!/SU) onto light blue card. To create the softer look I first stamped some of the ink off onto a scrap piece of card before stamping on the blue. I then inked the ‘Quiet Strength’ from my MOM stamp using my Melon Mambo marker (SU) and stamped it onto a piece of white card which I cut into a banner shape and finished off by adding two lines. I then slightly shaped my banner and attached it below my trees using 3D foam. Rounding three of the corners was all that was needed to finish off my card.

On my next card I was using the Tree Silhouettes set on its own and played with colour to create some interest …

Wishing you well

… again I stamped onto blue card for this one layer creation. The ink I used are Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant, all from SU. Again I felt that this card didn’t need any further embellishing.

For my next card I used the  Mom Subway Art #3 stamp in its entirety plus the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals

Mother

… again I used blue card as my base, of course you can use a different colour, I just sometimes challenge myself to use blue as it is a colour I don’t seem to naturally want to use. The MOM stamp is stamped in Elegant Eggplant (SU) straight onto my blue base card. I then added some scored lines, stamped my flowers from the Eclectic Florals set in Strawberry  Slush (SU) onto some white card before fuzzy cutting, shaping and adhering them to my card. I finished off by adding some gems and a rounded corner.

On my last card I tried to include some symbolism …

Mother 2

… it might be a bit too fussy for the CAS look, but you never know. I combined my  Mom Subway Art #3 stamp with the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes and Artful Flutters Sets.

The colours green and pink are for the heart connection (Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo by SU), purple for the spiritual connection (Elegant Eggplant by SU), yellow for sense of self (Daffodil Delight by SU) and blue for true communication.

The trees are symbolic for grounding and being well rooted yet flexible and strong to withstand the storms of life, the butterflies stand for change and embracing the unknown.

I could write a lot more about this, but it’s getting late here in the UK and I can hear my bed calling …

If you are interested let me know and I shall write it all up for you.

Hope you enjoyed the little journey today…

Back tomorrow with the new Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations … hope to see you there …

Happy Crafting!!!
