Artsy Notepad Folder

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for popping by and leaving me such lovely comments.

Today I want to share with you a notepad folder I made the other day. I thought it would be a nice idea. I went all messy and artsy on the front cover.

It also gave me the opportunity to use one of the new Subway Art Builders from STAMPlorations’ May Release …

notepad folder 1

To create my cover i first stenciled the flowers onto white card before doodling the partial frame. I then stamped my sentiment and generally grunged it up using elements from the Holiday Artsy (STAMPlorations) and Grunge Me (Papertrey Ink) sets before adding the stitching (from the Graphic Squares set by STAMPlorations), cut out sentiments (Sentiment Builders), sequins, glitter and Flower. If you want to see how I made the flower there is a video here, all you need are some punched flowers, Artiste Pearleascent or Metallic Pigment Ink (docrafts) and the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes stamp set by STAMPlorations.

… and this is the inside …

notepad folder 2

I am planning on doing a step by step picture tutorial on how to create the folder itself which I shall post on my TinkerCards Blog at which point I will also insert a link in this post. As for the time being it will be one of the projects for May’s Card Class (Saturday 17th 1pm).

Something else to look forward to …

Hope to see you there. Until then …

ATSM Challenge 93

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #93 – Holiday!!!

Wonder which holiday you’ll be showcasing!  Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Sherry at A Random Fan is sponsoring us again

… and my DT piece for our ‘Holiday’ Challenge is one-layer minimalist CAS  … and I went for a Christmas theme …

Happy Christmas

Yes, you’re seeing right, it’s green and pink for Christmas. Just in case you’re wondering if I haven’t any other inks in my stash given that at the moment all my cards seem to feature these colours … I do have plenty of other colours in my stash, but they are still downstairs, and I have moved most of my crafting stash upstairs … plus pink and green are the heart chakra colours and I do love using them together, they are real feel good colours …

Anyway back to my card … I inked my Christmas Tree in green and stamped it directly on my base card. Next I inked the stars from the same stamp in pink and stamped them slightly higher to one side of my tree. I then stamped some stitching and my sentiment before finishing off by adding some pink gems. Easy and quick, great if you have to make lots of cards.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Holiday’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

… look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

Sending Happy Thoughts

Hi Everybody,

First of all, thanks for all your lovely comments.

Finally I had some time over the weekend for some crafting, especially since I received some new goodies in the post last week …

Well at STAMPlorations we are getting ready for the New May Release Stamps, which this time we’ll combine with a Blog Hop. Keep watching this space!!!

My inspiration for today’s project comes from the following challenges

Inkspirational – Colour Challenge using Pink and Green

Less is More – using this sketch

Well I played a bit with the sketch in as much that my sentiment is inside the circle and a flourish was added instead … and here it is, my creation …

sending happy thoughts

I first sponged my turquoisey green panel, stamped the sentiments and flourish, added two blooms and finished off by adding some small gems … easy.

The punched flowers for my blooms were stamped using the medium sized tree from the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes set by STAMPlorations and pink pearlescent Artiste Pigment Ink by docrafts and layered with a bright pink sequin added to the center. If you want to see how I achieved the depth and texture in my stamping have a look on my TinkerCards Blog at this video, where you’ll also find a list of materials needed.

I have changed the card a bit after I finished recording, but, given that I used a large flower like the one seen in the video on another project due to be shared with you later this week, I thought I’d leave the video as is.

The bold sentiment is from one of the new STAMPlorations Sets

and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Happy Birthday Cornelia!

happy Birthday

I had to make a super quick card, and I know Cornelia loves the VIGNETTE Retro Mod Shapes … what better set to use. She does make amazing cards using this set, have a look here on her blog… I combined it with a set from the May New Release Stamps to give you a sneak preview.

I love the large sentiments … what better word to use in bold than HAPPY!!!

Wishing you a wonderful day, Cornelia!

Grace in each Step

Hello Everybody,

I’ve just finished colouring the beautiful Emily Spring Ladybugs by Lacy Sunshine and finally made the card I wanted to make last week … that was before I got stuck into re-organizing the house … LOL It is a sort of an ongoing project so far, I am moving crafting out of the dining room into our second bedroom upstairs … need I say more … 🙂

Now Emily is ready to be entered into the Lacy Sunshine Challenge #31 – Make it Feminine

Here she is …

Emily Spring Ladybugs

I went with soft colours, fabric patterned papers, ornate frame, dry embossing and some tiny daisies with gems to add the feminine touches.

Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by and leaving lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

ATSM Challenge 92

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

I was so lucky to meet some of my Teamies in London on Easter Monday. Kylie, Sandie and Sue, it was great meeting you. Back to the challenge …

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #92 – Make your mark!!!

You can use any form of marker colouring medium in your project. Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

We also have a new sponsor this week Sherry at A Random Fan

… and this is my DT piece for our Anything Goes Challenge …

Zentangle 1

Yes, you’re seeing right, I have been doodling again trying my hand at Zentngles. I was inspired to make this card by a recent workshop at Happy Stampers Northwest I was lucky to attended as a guest. I have also been sorting out old magazines and found an article on Zentangling, that’s when I thought I’d give it a go. Some of the patters I made up myself, others were copied from tutorials. It is quite easy as all you need are some black fine liner pens and you’re ready to go.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Make your Mark’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

… look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

Sketch 10 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Hope you had a great Easter!

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Carol as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 2nd and the winner will be announced on the 4th May!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following two interpretations for which I used some pearlescent pigment inks to add some luminosity to my projects …

Trees with Shadow For my first card I added some dash-dotted lines to follow the sketch. I inked up one of the trees from the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes stamp set with Violet and stamped it into the upper marked area and immediately stamped the shadow image below into the lower marked area without re-inking. I repeated this twice more before finishing my card off by rounding some corners and adding a square sequin.

For my second card below, I started off in a similar way and then turned the sketch by 90  degrees.

Dreaming Butterfly

I masked off my marked areas and sponged some Soft Pink, Dusky Rose, Mantis Green and Aqua inks to create some shading. I removed my masks and inked up my sentiments in the two green shades and stamped them onto my right hand panel before inking up my butterfly in the two pink shades and stamping it into my left hand panel and again on a piece of white card. Both butterfly and sentiments are from the VIGNETTE Artful Flutters stamp set. At this point I would have liked to add some splashes and circles from the Holiday Artsy Set, which is in stock again, but, due to Easter, it was still in the post and didn’t arrive in time. Instead I simply inked up some stars and finished the card by fuzzy cutting and adhering my butterfly.

Hope you like my cards and feel inspired …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

Participate in all 3 challenges we host this month and you’ll be in the running to win these lovely TSUKINEKO inks courtesy of our sister shop, All About Scrapping.

Happy Stamping!!! 😀
