STAMPlorations Birthday Blog Hop

Hello Everybody,

It’s CELEBRATION TIME!!!

STAMPlorations turns a year old this month and we’re celebrating with a blog hop! We’re also releasing the new stamps for July so it’s a double celebration. The other STAMPlorations girls and I are sharing projects we created that feature the new stamps. And we’ve got 5 talented card-makers celebrating with us too! Visit all the stops on the hop and leave a comment for a chance to win stamps. We’re giving away over $120 worth of stamps!

FOURTEEN (14) lucky hoppers randomly drawn from the designers’ blogs will each win a stamp set and ONE (1) lucky hopper randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations blog will win all the stamps in the July release. You have until Wednesday, July 2, 11:55 p.m. PDT (GMT -700) to comment here and on my fellow designers’ posts for a chance to win. Winners will be announced on the STAMPlorations blog on Sunday, July 6.

And here’s my project

It's Your Day

Cake, Fireworks and Streamers came to mind when I was thinking about celebrating this huge achievement and I hope my card does reflect this. The explosive background and sentiment were created using stamps from the new VIGNETTE Celebrate Artsy and VIGNETTE It’s Your Day Sets combined with some splatters from the Holiday Artsy set. The cake was stamped on a piece of white card, coloured using Promarkers, fuzzy cut and layered using 3D foam tape. I then edged my panel with brown and layered it onto my Kraft base card before adding some sparkle using sequins and glitter glue.

The winner’s prize on my blog is SUBWAY ART BUILDERS Dare, one large stamp consisting of 5 enormously encouraging sentiments. One example of me using SAB Dare can be seen in my header. The reason I chose this set is that simply through looking at the sentiments I feel encouraged to move outside the box especially when my creative mojo is down a bit. A perfect pick me up! … with this prize I dare you to dream, imagine the impossible possible, to seize the moment, bloom where you are and follow your heart!

My Teamies have worked wonders using the new stamps in their projects. During the Hop you can buy all the stamps as a bundle at a 17% discount for only $30 and very reasonable shipping too.

Good Luck!!!

  2. Great ideas for a special celebration. Everyone chose wonderful color combo. The person who receives your creation is going to feel very special.

  3. The paint strokes and splatter create a fantastic background for the popped up cupcake. Your color combo is delightful.

  4. I love those background stamps you have used- the paint brush effects are even better with the inks (are they acrylics?) you have used. perfect composition with the gems and glitter too- I can never get that right! Happy 1st birthday to stamplorations

    • Hi Louise. They are dye inks. I used colours by Stampin’Up!, pumpkin pie and summer sun, which is a retired colour similar to the current Daffodil Delight. I simply over stamped and then added the splashes in chocolate chip. Hope this helps. X

  5. Monika: WOW! Jaw-dropping, show-stopping card! , You’ve worked magic with this wonky tiered cake stamp! The colours, the background, the sequins – every element and detail is full-on visual harmony! Such a gorgeous showcase of the new release AND your creativity! Fabulous!
