Just a quickie, sharing a super speedy card with you using the snowflake die from the current issue of the Docrafts Creativity Magazine, available at good High Street news agents such as WHSmiths, combined with the stamps from the last month’s issue and the Holiday Artsy stamp set, another favourite of mine, by STAMPlorations.
I would like to enter this card into the August Challenge at House Of Cards – a sketch
…and of course I’m going to share it at #docraftsmonday on Facebook.
and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
it is time again for another sketch challenge at STAMPlorations and we are welcoming Kim from Art Keeps Me Sane as our guest designer. We also have another fabulous sketch for you to take your inspiration from, here it is …
As always there is still lots of scope to put your own stamp on it. This time I didn’t play quite as much with it and only slightly turned the topper to make this elegant monochrome card with a few sprinkles of colour.
I used Oh, Christmas Tree! and PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares to stamp my Christmas Tree topper in black. The fainter coloured trees are stamped using the generational stamping technique, where you stamp an image again without re-inking the stamp first. This is a great technique for lightening a colour and to add dimension to your stamping. I then embossed a piece of white card with some stars, layered my card as seen with pieces of black and silvery glitter card, added a peel-off greeting and a sprinkle of sequins to finish.
This is about the only time I ever use peel-offs, to make Christmas cards. I am not sure stamping or heat embossing would have worked on this card as the stars are almost dome-shaped.
And here is my card without the sprinkles …
I thought I’d show you the card in its original monochrome look to demonstrate the difference a few sequins can make.
This sketch challenge will end 15th August and the winner will be announced 17th August. For information about the winner’s prize and our August Prize Bundle draw pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog where of course you’ll find some more inspiration from my talented teamies.
Back soon with some more inspiration, until then …
Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
what else I used: Xcut embossing folder from docrafts, card, peel-off and sequins from stash.
thanks for all your lovely comments. So glad you liked the cards I made using the papers from the Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine.
Today I have a real cutie for you: Emily, Showers of Love
I just love how Emily is being showered with hearts, you can find her here in the Lacy Sunshine Shoppe.
I basically sized and printed her, then coloured her and used my Floral Frames to die cut her before blending the edges and layering my card as seen.
I would like to enter her into:
