… and rushing to get there

Hi Everyone,

this is my second post for today.

Thanks for all your lovely comments they are very much appreciated.

I just want to share the card I made for the Cardz4Guyz ‘water’ challenge, sadly I was a little too late and the linkup had just closed, here it is anyway …

The little windsurfing penguin is from Create a Smile Stamps. I wanted to keep the card pretty much CAS, for my panel I used Artiste Spraying Inks by docrafts, my sentiment is by Wild Rose Studio.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

A little birdie told me that it is National Coffee Day today! Even better there is a Coffee Lovers’ blog hop party going on here.

The idea for this card came about when I looked through the link Amy Tsuruta gave on FB the other day. I thoroughly enjoyed scrolling through the fabulous ‘coffee printables’, they were so good that I simply couldn’t resist using a couple in my card. My original thought was to do something with a coffee cup or recycled outer wrapper of a coffee cup, but then this tickled me more especially as this was me this morning before going to work. 🙂

And of course I celebrated everything coffee today including wearing my coffee cup socks 😀

This was my first drink when I got into work

Normally I work from home, but occasionally I go into businesses working for a friend of mine and today was such a day. I thought this paper cup was just soooo fitting, the coffee wasn’t bad either.

1. When did you start drinking coffee?

I’ve been drinking coffee for as long as I can remember.
2. What is your favorite brand (you can name up to three).

That’s a bit of a tricky one I don’t really pay too much attention to names, because for me it’s more about the golden mellow roast taste, as I call it, with its burst of flavour, dark roast doesn’t do it for me. When I lived in Germany it used to be Jacobs Kroenung, and here in the UK I am lucky enough to have Adams & Russell just down the road in Brikenhead. Their coffee is simply delicious. 🙂
3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when?

Gosh, this must have been Ruedesheimer Kaffee quite years ago on an outing with Catering College, when we went to a distillery and were treated to their own version of hot sweetened coffee with a generous helping of Asbach Uralt Brandy and whipped cream …. those were the days. Nowadays I’m all for simply black …. no sugar ….
4. If I don’t drink my needed coffee, I will…

be grumpy all day! 🙂

Hope you’ll join in with a brew …

Before I forget the image on my card is COFFEE! by Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps.

Next up is my card for the CASology ‘flutter’ challenge, hope I’m still in time …

It is a very simple, quick, straight forward card. I masked off along the bottom edge, blended some pink, orange and yellow above, stamped my fluttery doodles, stamp by Magenta, removed my mask, added a couple of scored lines, layered onto my red base card (love how it brings out the other colours, looks better in reality than in the picture) and added one red gem to finish, I thought about adding a sentiment somewhere but it seemed like crowding near the bottom and it didn’t look right at the top either.

edit: 30th September

I just checked over at CASology, and my fluttery bugs card was given an HM. Thanks so much!

Right, this is my little offering for you today ….

enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

ATSM Challenge 114

Hi Everybody,

it’s time again for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More: Challenge #114 – CAS

You all know what this means, we want to see clean & simple cards with lots of white space.

Well, this time round I thought I’d give you two for one …

Christmas Landscape 2

Christmas landscape 3

As you can see I am still Clearly Besotted with this beautiful Tree Landscape die and STAMPlorations’ Christmas Flower from their Holiday Sketches range. I simply used the die to cut one piece of white card which I then layered on two my black base cards, adding the sentiment, ribbon and some white card to the inside finished my cards off nicely.

Look forward to seeing what you make for our CAS challenge, pop over to the ATSM Challenge Blog to see all the beautiful cards my teamies made and of course to link your projet(s) too.

QKR Stampede are back as our sponsors and you can win 3 digis of your choice from their shop.

Please check out our rules here before linking up.

Back soon with more inspiration.

Have a lovely day and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Sunday Playtime

Hi Everybody,

back again with a couple of more projects, and yes, hooray! I had more playtime today. Thanks again for your lovely comments, hope you’ll like today’s offering …

first up is a Monster Birthday …

Monster Birthday

… on a simply stamped BG combined with a digi sentiment and fuzzy cut digi monster, courtesy of  Create A Smile Stamps. The stamps used to stamp the BG are Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds and PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares  both by STAMPlorations, inks (Basic Grey and Tangerine Tango) and old olive card are by Stampin’Up!, white card and metal embellies are from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cardz4Guyz– no patterned paper, think this would be a great boy’s birthday card

House of Cards – colour palette , hope that this is still ok despite me having used a touch of purple

Happy Little Stampers – Sketch , slightly changed it, but hope it’s still ok

My next card is one I made using the freebie stamps which had landed on my doormat yesterday, when the postman dropped the newest copy of Papercraft Essentials through the door. I thought it was perfect for the following challenges:

– Addicted to CAS – cuddly

Time out – double the joy, use two of something  – my card features two bears

Christmas Bears

I stamped and coloured my image using a mixture of Promarkers and Tinge Alcohol Markers, rounded some corners, layered on Real Red (Stampin’Up!) and then onto my base card, stamped my sentiment, cut it into a banner, attached it using foam dots and finished off by adding a red gem and twine.

They both have been very easy cards to make. Have fun making yours.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

These are the STAMPlorations stamp sets I used for the background in my first card:

Saturday Playtime

Hello Everybody,

It’s Saturday and I finally got some playtime 😀 … and some quick projects to share.

First of all I want to thanks you all for all the lovely comments you left this week, they were very much appreciated. Reading them always gives me a great lift especially when I am busy doing the things that earn me some money, but then we all have to do them ….

I decided to take some inspiration from a couple of challenges for today’s cards:

the first one is being entered into:

Case This Sketch –

Happy Little Stampers – Sketch , I moved the sentiment, hope this is ok

Cardz4Guyz – no patterned paper, mine is an all stamped card

old type

I stamped my BG using the VIGNETTE Old Type stamp set (STAMPlorations) in Crumb Cake (Stampin’Up! ink), I then added some dots in black using the Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds (STAMPlorations), stamped my sentiment from the Graphic Squares set (STAMPlorations) on a strip of white card, slightly distressed the edges using my finger nails simply because I couldn’t find my distress tool … LOL … and edged it with black before attaching is to my card. I then stamped nad fuzzy cut the type writer, adhered it using foam dots and finished off rounding one of the corners.

My next card is being entered into

CASology – Grass, this is where I have to mention that I’m so lucky and blessed to be on Shery’s Design Team for STAMPlorations

Case This Sketch –

squares grass

I used the plain square from the PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares set to stamp my BG using the generational stamping technique in Bashful Blue (Stampin’Up! ink). I then added some stitching and a sentiment from the same set in Wild Wasabi (SU ink), die cut and added my grass (die from Clearly Besotted Stamps) and finished off by adding some punched daisies and gems. Another quick and easy card for you.

Hope you enjoyed my little offering today, back soon with more inspiration.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Here are all the sets I used as graphics, please click on individual images for more information.

My Yearly Challenge

… and Spotligfht on VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips stamp set by STAMPlorations.

Hello Everybody,

thanks so much for your lovely comments, they are all very much appreciated. Work has been and is a bit manic this week, but then that is also one of the joys of being self employed … stretches of being busy and then other weeks that are very quiet and leave me plenty of time for crafting!

Each Year I challenge myself to make at least one Christmas card using non-Christmas stamps. Well this is what I made this year

Gunge Florals Christmas 1

Grung Florals Christmas 2

The pic for the above card was taken out of full sunshine and the one below in full sun coming in from the side. I have been trying to capture the shimmer of these great Artiste inks (metallic, pearlescent and spray by docrafts) without causing the usual glare. It is such a shame these cards really sparkle and yet they look incredibly plain on the photos.

Grunge Florals Christmas 2a

Grunge Florals Christmas 3

Grunge Florals Christmas 3a

As you might have guessed by now I combined the Grunge Floral Strips with sentiments from the HOLIDAY SKETCHES: Christmas Flower, on cards 2 and 3, and Holiday Artsy , on card 1, stamp sets.

You can see my full Spotlight Post here on the STAMPlorations Blog, and whilst you’re popping in over there why not check out the fantastic challenges too.

Talking of challenges, I would like to add my last two cards to the Happy Little Stampers September sketch Challenge just for fun. That was on their Forum site and now I’m adding it to their Challenge Blog here, same sketch of course.

Back soon with more inspiration for you, until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Sketch 20 at STAMPlorations

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for all your lovely comments, so glad you enjoyed my Blog Hop Projects.

This week we are back with another sketch challenge for you over at STAMPlorations.

As you can see it is quite an easy sketch to work with. This is exactly what I love about our sketches, they allow lots of room for your interpretation and creativity to flourish too. This challenge will run until 26th September and the winner will be announced two days later on the 28th.

Joining us as our Guest designer for this challenge is Darnell from djkardcreations with her fabulous creation and fantastic sense of humor.

Here is my piece of inspiration for you:

Grunge Floral Christmas

When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of using the VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips for my DT Card. Plus I’ve been making so many Christmas cards recently hence I couldn’t resist pairing the with HOLIDAY SKETCHES Christmas Candles and VIGNETTE Christmas Block. I simply stamped the snowflakes in red, embossed the strips with Pirate Gold embossing powder, stamped and fuzzy cut the bells, stamped my sentiment, layered it all as shown and finished off with some golden gems and glitter glue. A very straight forward and easy card to make. Here is the video to prove it …

Pop over to the STAMPlortaions Blog to see the fabulous projects my incredibly talented teamies made for your inspiration and find out about the fab prize Shery has in store for our challenge winner …. and of course to link up with your creation.

Have fun, enjoy and

Happy Crafting!!!! 🙂

One Card Two Looks – Take 2

Hi Everybody,

I’m back again with another card for you that can easily be adapted to look differently. You may remember my DT card for STAMPlorations’ September Challenge – Stamps & Markers … well it was based on today’s card. You might have guessed by now I had a bit of a monochromatic phase ….

There is a little video on how I made the subtle snowflake background at the end of this post. Apart from that it’s simple blending and stamping plus some added gems. Generational stamping was used stamp the sentiment and stitching to add depth and make the candles stand out.

For the card below I dug out an old Hero Arts shadow ink pad which I used ‘direct to paper’ to create the background. The sentiment, candles and stitching are all stamped using the same dark blue, this time without the generational stamping. To finish a few highlights with a sparkle gel pen and some glitter glue plus three rounded corners were added.

Two of the sets used in today’s cards (HOLIDAY SKETCHES Christmas Candles and VIGNETTE Christmas Block) are part of the Christmas Bundle which is on offer during the STAMPlorations Blog Hop, details of the 15% off offer can be found here.

The Blog Hop over at the STAMPlorations Blog is still in full swing and there is still time to join the fun too plus you’ll get to see lots of fantastic inspiration!!!

One Card Two Looks – Take 1

Hi Everybody,

thanks so much for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Today I want to share a card with you which is very easy to make and quite easy to alter.  The basis is a B&W card stamped on centura pearl card. The sentiment is stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the poinsettias (Holiday Skteches: Christmas Flower) are stamped with the same ink, but I used and older ink pad that had been used a lot and has faded. This gives the same effect as generational stamping would – a lighter tone of the same colour. The sentiment for my card is one I made up using STAMPlorations’ new SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Christmas & New Year. Some clear gems for added sparkle were the perfect finishing touch for my first card.

Both sets used in this card are part of the Christmas Bundle which is on offer during the STAMPlorations Blog Hop, details of the 15% off offer can be found here.

B&W Poinsettia 1

TIP! if you are looking on how best to align your stamps and stamping for fab results please check out Vicki’s post here, she has some great advice!!!

You could of course use some red glitter instead, if you wanted to stay below the 5mm thickness for standard size letters, that’s for us here in the UK to avoid large letter postage. I tried to mimic that look by colouring the berries using red promarkers and adding some clear glitter glue. of course you could always colour the poinsettias for a bolder look or add a big bow to alter this basic card. It’s only up to your imagination!

B&W Poinsettia 2

The Blog Hop over at the STAMPlorations Blog is still in full swing and there is still time to join the fun too plus you’ll get to see lots of fantastic inspiration!!!

Inspired By

Hi Everybody,

so glad to see that you’re enjoying the STAMPlorations Blog Hop and that you liked my little stamp storage book too. Today’s card might look familiar to you. My inspiration came from the cover I made for my stamp storage folder for yesterday’s post. I simply wanted to show how transferable design can be, plus it gave me the opportunity to make a little video to share the creation of this look. I also have a scrapbook layout in mind using the same principle … watch this space.

Inspired By card

I simply blended some yellow and green ink, stamped and coloured the poppies, stamped my sentiments, layered it all up and added some ribbon and sequins to finish. Well the glue was still wet when i took the picture 🙂

Here are the details of the blog hop again:
