One Card Two Looks – Take 2

Hi Everybody,

I’m back again with another card for you that can easily be adapted to look differently. You may remember my DT card for STAMPlorations’ September Challenge – Stamps & Markers … well it was based on today’s card. You might have guessed by now I had a bit of a monochromatic phase ….

There is a little video on how I made the subtle snowflake background at the end of this post. Apart from that it’s simple blending and stamping plus some added gems. Generational stamping was used stamp the sentiment and stitching to add depth and make the candles stand out.

For the card below I dug out an old Hero Arts shadow ink pad which I used ‘direct to paper’ to create the background. The sentiment, candles and stitching are all stamped using the same dark blue, this time without the generational stamping. To finish a few highlights with a sparkle gel pen and some glitter glue plus three rounded corners were added.

Two of the sets used in today’s cards (HOLIDAY SKETCHES Christmas Candles and VIGNETTE Christmas Block) are part of the Christmas Bundle which is on offer during the STAMPlorations Blog Hop, details of the 15% off offer can be found here.

The Blog Hop over at the STAMPlorations Blog is still in full swing and there is still time to join the fun too plus you’ll get to see lots of fantastic inspiration!!!

  1. Monika, your cards are stunning in their simplicity, and that subtle, snowflake-shadow textured background adds such a lovely touch! Incredibly pretty! As for your video: BONUS! Love that use the shaving brush as your inking tool…I may have to ‘kidnap’ my husband’s! Thanks for sharing!
