Cute and Girlie Winnings

Hi Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Today I have a piece of good news to share. Last week I found out that I won a prize over at the Happy Little Stampers Forum, link in my sidebar, simply click the picture.

Part of the prize were some adorable digis by Kathryne from StampArt Designs, and I was able to choose my own. One of my chosen digis is called Katie and I used her to make the card below. Kathryne also sponsors the current challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and I would like to enter this beauty into their Mark Your Mark Challenge.

Katie with Daisy

The other piece of good new is that I came across a very affordable range of alcohol markers … Tinge Art Markers …

I coloured Katie’s skin and dress using my new Tinge Art Markers which I bought in The Works for only 99 pence each, a bargain. They handle differently to my Promarkers, but they do have a finer tip which is great for detail work. The colour range is not as large either, but I still think they are a really good budget option, I just need to get used to them. You can also buy them online, where they have a better range than in my local store. I just bought some more and got a discount voucher for friends, feel free to use the link below.

As I was crafting with some friends yesterday and we used some of the markers again to make this lovely card following the same layout I used for Katie’s card.

Freebie stamps Quick cards issue 130

Again I used the Tinge Markers to colour the skin and clothes, still need to work on the shading. The stamp is a freebie from Quick Cards Made Easy, out 14th August 2014. Got mine early in the post.

Back soon with more inspiration.

Happy Crafting!!! ūüôā

Here is what I made to help your creative juices to flow …

Thank You heart

I did challenge myself a bit to do something different and not use stamps. I used pretty papers and die cuts instead to make this bright and cheerful card with a summery theme.

The papers were downloads from the Quick Cards Made Easy magazine’s August issue. I printed them off this afternoon and by dinner time I had made four cards!!! Here are the other three …

Bee's Knees

Coming for a Picnic

… of course the tag can sit also fit straight into it’s pocket, but you wouldn’t have been able to see the writing.

Birthday Ladybirds

With the above ¬†one I meant to add some twine, and then I forgot … but is still looks nice with it’s wavy greeting banner.

Hope¬†that you feel inspired to allow your imagination to flourish and enter¬†this week’s ‘Anything Goes’ challenge at ATSM,¬†please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

¬†… look forward to seeing your creations … and

Here it is my DT piece for our Make Your Mark Challenge …

Spunky with cupcake

The adorable¬†SPUNKY THE MOUSE, one of Kathryne’s images,¬†is back with us too this week. This time we weren’t making cheese, Spunky told me he had developed a sweet tooth of late hence we simply baked cupcakes instead. I coloured him and my stamped cupcake (SKETCHED Cupcake by STAMPlorations) using Promarkers, fuzzy both and entwined them a little. For my stamped background I inked up a couple of stamps (Mini Mixed Media by STAMPlorations) one in Crumb Cake and the other one in So Saffron (both by SU) and stamped them onto white card. I then added the stamped stitching (PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares by STAMPlorations) and edged my panel using Chocolate Chip (SU), attached Spunky and his cupcake, stamped my sentiment, attached my panel to the inside of my card and added some gems and glitter glue before creating the front panel of my card …

Front of Spunky with cupcake

Yes, this is what the front of my card looks like. I first stamped my cupcake on the card and masked it off before continuing stamping in the same way as for my inside background. I then removed my mask and added some colour to my cupcake using watercolour pencils before edging my panel and attaching it to the card front.

… and because I liked my card front so much, I turned it into another card with a video tutorial here ….
cupcake, feel better

ATSM Challenge 101

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

This means freedom of creation! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Eureka Stamps is back again as our sponsor this week! The winner gets 3 digis. There are some fab images in their shop, you can check them out here.

I liked their Butterfly Background image so much that I used it again for this week’s challenge. Here is what I made …

Butterfly Background 2

This time I cut part of the image off to make it look as if the butterflies are flying off the edge. I coloured my butterflies using Promarkers and added some shading around them before partially blending the edges with distress inks. I added some faux stitching and layered my card as shown before finishing off by adding some crystal effects to my pink butterfly.

The slight texture on my base card is achieved by inking up a texture plate, placing my card onto it, pressing it down using a roller and lifting the printed card off.

Here is a reminder of the card I made a few weeks ago for Challenge #97 using the same Butterfly image …

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at¬†Addicted to Stamps and More¬†…¬†¬†Challenge #100 – Photo Inspiration!!!

This time Kylie has chosen a fabulous picture full of rainbow colours for you to take inspiration from, here it is

Well you could also go with umbrellas, rain etc! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet is our sponsor this week and the winner gets to choose 3 images up to $10 from their store, pop over and have a look … lots of choice!

It is ATSM’s 2nd birthday, hooray!!! To mark the occasion I have chosen to work with an image by¬†BB Kakes called¬†Flowerboy 1.

Flower Boy 1

Thanks to Kylie and all her hard work, ATSM is going from strength to strength.

I used mainly the blues from the photo as my inspiration and added a splash of colour with the flowers. I liked the sketched look of the image and high lighted it by adding some grey shading and doodling.

The background is printed directly onto my base card using an inked up texture plate.

Hope¬†that you feel inspired¬†to celebrate with us and enter¬†this week’s ‘Photo Inspiration’ challenge at ATSM,¬†please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

We have a new sponsor this week, QKR Stampede, and the winner will receive 3 digis from their store.

Here it is my DT piece for our CAS Challenge …

Appaloosa Foal

I made this card for my sister who loves horses using the Appaloosa Foal image from QKR Stampede. Now I am not a horsey person at all, but I simply coloured the image with Promarkers using shades that resemble the colouring of my sister’s horse.

I then partially cut around the image, stamped my sentiment (Wild Rose Studio) partially on and off the image, scored three lines down one side of my base card, layered my image using 3D foam and added two tiny hearts to finish.

Hope¬†that you feel inspired¬†to enter¬†this week’s ‘CAS’ challenge at ATSM,¬†please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

I used one of Kathryne’s images called ‘Alannah and Snowman’ and went for a girly pink & green Christmas theme.

I simply sized, printed and coloured Alannah using my promarkers. layered it onto a piece of green card, some pink DSP and my white base card before adding a frost border die cut (Memory Box) and finishing off by adding some sequins and glitter glue.

ATSM Challenge 97

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

We had some fab entries last week. Thanks to everyone who entered, hope to see you again this week.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at¬†Addicted to Stamps and More¬†…¬†¬†Challenge #97 – Make your Mark!!!

Another favourite of yours, and I am looking forward to seeing lots of your fabulous creations! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Eureka Stamps is our new sponsor this week! The winner gets 3 digis. There are some fab images in their shop, you can check them out here.

Inspired by the butterfly in their logo, I made the following card using their Butterfly Background image …

Butterfly Background 1

I coloured the three larger butterflies using Promarkers (ivory, pastel beige and bluebell), layered onto a piece of Concorde Crush and then on my Natural Ivory base card (card stock by Stampin’Up!). I finished off by adding a matching blue chiffon ribbon (Fantastic Ribbons) and two sequins (from stash).

TIP: Colouring only part of your stamp adds extra depth.

I really like this Butterfly Background digi as it is very versatile, you can use it as is, chop it up like Danielle, decoupage some of the butterflies …

ATSM Challenge 96

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at¬†Addicted to Stamps and More¬†…¬†¬†Challenge #96 – Anything Goes!!!

It is your favourite theme, and I am looking forward to seeing lots of your fabulous creations! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Rick St Dennis is our new sponsor this week! There are some fab images in his shop, you can check them out here.

… and given that there is so much choice of fab images in his shop, I pushed the boat out and made …

a canvas using his Gypsy Wagon image.

Gypsy Wagon on canvas

Well I must admit, the canvas happened by accident. Initially I had planned to make a card, but then disaster struck … I had coloured my image with Promarkers and messed up the background wanting to do too much I guess. This meant I needed to cut the wagon out. Luckily this canvas was already painted (since November last year LOL) using some of the famous PapertArtsy Chalk Acrylic Paints and gesso. I dug out some of my Lavinia Stamps and Versafine Inks and stamped the border and sentiment. Once my image was dry, I sprayed it with Crafter’s Companion’s Spray and Shine varnish for protection, I glued it into position, stamped a couple of more leaves around the wheels, edged the canvas with purple pigment ink and added my little glazed heart as a finishing touch … artwork complete.

Hope¬†that you feel inspired¬†to maybe try something different, maybe pick up some unfinished project and to enter¬†this week’s ‘Anything Goes’ challenge at ATSM,¬†please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

¬†… look forward to seeing your creations … and
