A Mixed Bunch

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
Today I want to share with you a few cards I made a little while ago, but haven’t posted as yet.
First up is this little romantic beauty…

image

I blended some yellow, orange and red on a piece of white card and stamped a plain square in orange to create a bokeh style background. I then stamped the couple in red and grounded them on a stitched border before adding the sentiment in orange and rounding two of the corners. To add extra interested, I decided to attach slightly tilted to my red base card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts – no designer papers

My next card is another colourful one….

image

… this time using a brayered background on which I flicked some water before stamping my silhouette stamp in black. Again I rounded some corners and layered on a white base card to finish.
My last card is a little less bright…

image

A simple wreath with flowers, leaves and greeting. I stamped the circle, die cut the leaves, stamped the sentiment and stamped and punched the flowers before assembling and layering as seen. Adding some gems was the perfect finishing touch.

I am entering this card into to following challenges:

Allsorts – no designer papers

Less is More – Jingle all the way/Christmas

And here’s my project…
leaves frame square 1
Well, what can I say, I got a little carried away … and it was very easy to make. For the picture I blended different shades of yellow, stamped my leaves in green, the sentiment from the TYPOGRAPHIA Encouragement set in brown and highlighted a couple of words using Promarkers. I then painted this little frame, thanks to my friend Sue, first with white gesso and then with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics. Once dry I applied a generous coat of clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint and left it to dry. In the meantime I stamped and fuzzy cut my leaves and gave them too the crackle treatment. Once dry I swiped my frame and leaves with a little brown ink to highlight the cracks, added some further highlights using Treasure Gold and assembled as shown.
Just a couple more pictures to show off the finished frame …

And here’s my project…
fabulous you 1
For the background, I did a little wash using yellow ink radiating out from where City Girl was going to be and spritzed with gold. Once dry I added the sentiment, attached my coloured City Girl using foam dots and finished by adding some golden gems.
Yep, you’re rightly thinking that I’m addicted to a touch of gold at the moment. It gives such a nice and luxurious sparkle which is difficult to resist LOL
Here is my card lying flat to capture some more of that sparkle ….
fabulous you 2

ATSM Challenge 122

Hi Everybody,

the weeks have flown by, and it’s time again for Team A to give you some inspiration for the ‘Make Your Mark’ challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, short ATSM.

Here is my piece of inspiration for you …

concertina fold stocking 1

… and a couple of close ups …

concertina fold stocking 2

concertina fold stocking 3

Well, I thought I’d make my mark not only by using my H2Os but also by making a card with a difference … or was it more that I wanted to use my new dies … 🙂

I started off die cutting and punching al the pieces I needed to make my card before assembling the frames and adding my layers of sprayed paper and card.

I then stamped and coloured three stockings using my Twinkeling H2Os and fuzzy cut them before attaching them to my card as shown. Next I stamped and added my sentiment before decorating my card using snowflakes, gems, sequins and glitter glue. To finish I joined my inner panels using the tabs provided.

Our sponsor this week is Eureka Stamps

and the winner gets to choose 3 digis from their store.

Check out all the fabulous inspiration my teamies prepared for you over on the ATSM blog.

That’s it from me for now. Back again tomorrow with my inspiration project for Day 3 of the STAMPlorations Blog Hop.

Until then …

Happy Crafting!!!

🙂

stmp1079.jpeg
And here’s my project…
first the outside …
70th birthday front
and now the inside …
70th birthday inside
Well for this card I’ve gone to town using my spritzing inks as I wanted to create the atmosphere of splashing out and having a big birthday bash/party. I have already someone in mind who has a BIG low key celebration coming up, this person likes sailing hence the colour scheme and spray. What better excuse to dig out my SB Celebrate and VIGNETTE Celebrate Artsy and combine them with the new VIGNETTE: Eat Drink Be Merry set!
How do you do this … spray a piece of white card with turquoise-yish blue and green, stamp the sentiments and champagne/cocktail glasses in black archival ink, add some blue watercolour to the ‘celebrate’ sentiment and some pale yellow to the glasses, spray with a few splatters of gold and add glossy accents (glasses) and gems to finish. The inside is simply stamped and sprayed for added luxury.
Of course all the new, gorgeous, versatile and fabulous stamp sets are available as a bundle during our Blog Hop at the reduced price of $50, that’s 15% off the normal price. This offer will last until 25th November, for more details click here.
This is it from me for today, back again tomorrow with some more inspiration.

stmp1077.jpeg
And here’s my project…
Rose Bud vase
I made a one layer, tall and narrow card, a type I haven’t made in a long time. I thought it would be great to showcase the single rose in a vase which can be used for all sorts of occasions such as birthday, anniversary, get well etc. I simply stamped the vase, rose and leaves in black archival ink, added a touch of watercolour and a couple of squirts of Gold Artiste Spritzing Ink for a touch of glamour and finished off by adding the ‘with love’ sentiment into the bottom right hand corner on the inside.
Of course all the new, gorgeous, versatile and fabulous stamp sets are available as a bundle during our Blog Hop at the reduced price of $50, that’s 15% off the normal price. This offer will last until 25th November, for more details click here.

Writing Home For Christmas

Hi Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Today I’m sharing another one of my STAMPlorations Spotlight Projects with you, a vintage inspired collage style card. Here it is …

writing home for Christmas

I really left my comfort zone making this one. Well I guess it didn’t help that I made it early in the morning being tired and exhausted from three weeks of non-stop cleaning and decorating. That phase is over now and I can move on focusing on the things i’d rather do such as crafting 🙂

I used the following sets by STAMPlorations Joyful, VIGNETTE Christmas Block, Oh, Christmas Tree! and VIGNETTE Old Type to make this card, and here is the craft-along video with my usual ramblings.

You can also pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog for an in depth description on how I made this card.

Back soon with more inspiration for you, until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Here is what I used:

ATSM Challenge 120

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #120 – Photo Inspiration!!! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Kylie has chosen another great photo to take inspiration from, here it is:

There is lots of scope here, you could go with the bauble, stars or general Christmas theme or choose any of the colours in any combination. The photo looks really crisp and clean which would make CAS an option too, curls and swirls from the ribbon, a bow …. it’s up to whatever inspires you.

Here are my DT pieces for our Photo Inspiration Challenge …

red holly

green holly with bauble

They are a sort of two for one, when it comes to the holly. I simply die cut the holly from green card and then pieced the ‘left overs’ on a pice of red card to create my topper for my first card. To finish off i added some pearls, a bow and a golden peel-off sentiment.

For my second card, I attached my holly to a piece of designer paper, added a die cut bauble made up of a die cut circle with filigree bauble layered on top, stamped my sentiment and finished off with a gem, bow and some golden glitter glue.

Kathryne from StampArt Design is back with us again this week as our sponsor,

and the winner will receive 5 digis from her store.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Photo Inspiration’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Happy Crafting!!!!

Sketch 23 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hi Everybody,

it’s been so nice to see so many of you using STAMPlorations Stamps in our challenges last month. There were so many beautiful projects, thanks for sharing them with us. Time has passed quickly and we’re here with another sketch challenge at STAMPlorations and we are welcoming Ingrid from Ingrid’s Crafts Corner as our guest designer. As always the sketch on offer is very versatile and you can use any style of card or project as long as the sketch is recognizable. Here it is:

This challenge will run until 14th November and the winner will be announced 16th November.

Here is my piece of inspiration for you:

Trendy Leaves 1

I used one of the new sets called Trendy Leaves combined with SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Thanks You and BLOOM SKETCHES: Sunflower Artsy.

I simply inked up my leaf stamp using More Mustard and Tangerine Tango inks and used some generational stamping to create my layers before stamping my sentiments in Rich Cocoa. I then edged my panel using Rich Cocoa going easy and free hand to get some smudges, layered onto my Close to Cocoa base card and added some sequins to finish.

… and because I like the new stamps so much, here is another piece …

perking up

This time I worked with the VIGNETTE Eat Drink Be Merry set. I thought it would be fun to have the shading of my cup reflect the perking up effect of coffee or more like the effect it has on me 🙂 You might just about be able to guess how many cups I need before I’m fully awake.

This card is straight forward easy stamping with a little play on colour, a couple of rounded edges plus a Close to Cocoa card base and gem.

Both of the November Release sets are currently on Pre-Release offer until 11th November, and you’ll be seeing their full introduction later this month with a FIVE DAY Blog Hop ….

Hope you enjoyed my little offering. If you feel inspired to enter our sketch challenge, pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to enter and join the fun plus of course to see all the fab projects my teamies have created for your inspiration.

This is also where you can find out about the great prizes you can win in our challenges. We always have several of them on the go such as the ANYTHING GOES Challenge which is open to anyone using STAMPloratons Stamps, links to all our current challenges can be found at the top of our Home Page.

Enjoy the fun and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
