White and Silver Snowflakes

Hi Everybody,

back with my second post of the day.

Since I’m not much use for doing anything else today -got a very bad cold- I might as well share a bit of inspiration 🙂 plus Mynnette left a lovely comment the other day suggesting joining in the blog hop at House of Cards …. what better way to spend the day!!!

Also the Snowflake Challenge is still on at Addicted to CAS … I could play along with both … here are my projects inspired by the Addicted to CAS snowflakes and the photo from a House of Cards:

… first the card I want to enter in both …

… and because I enjoyed it so much, I made a matching gift box which I need to wrap up a couple of presents …

Card recipe: Crystal and Lindeman snowflake dies – Memory Box, sentiment – Greetings of the Season stamp set from Stampin’Up!, silver embossing powder, silver gel pen, gem, white base card and ruler

For the box I used, in addition to the Memory Box dies, white card and gem, a texturz embossing plate (Sizzix) some silver paper and ribbon, glitter glue

Lovely Lavender CAS

Hello Again,

this is my second post for the day, and what a day it has been and still is. It is lovely and warm here in Hoylake and it was the perfect day for a Lunchtime picnic.

Back from the picnic I got started on my Lovely Lavender CAS card. Basically it is combining two challenges …

… at Addicted to CAS the keyword is circles and …

… at the Lavinia Blog challenge it is Lovely Lavender …

and herein lies the challenge, I haven’t seen many Lavender CAS cards around. Well there is always a first time …

Lovely Lavender CAS

The reflection of the glass table top just adds an extra bit of magic. I basically cut my base card from some Lavender card stock plus a slightly smaller piece for the front from white card stock into which I cut a round aperture. I then stamped the star circle onto a piece of white card using Lavender lace ink and the fairy using Elegant Eggplant ink before cutting it into a circle which is slightly smaller than my aperture. Then I inked up individual words from two different Lavinia stamps and stamped them as shown to the front of my card. I rounded all the corners and adhered my front panel using 3-D foam pads before gluing my fairy circle to the middle of my aperture and finishing off with attaching some clear gems.

Generally speaking I like using glue when I want to be able to move bits into ‘perfect’ position. Tape sticks immediately, glue allows for minor movement until it sets.

All stamps used are by Lavinia Stamps, the lavender card stock is by Papermania and the inks are from Stampin’Up!

Back soon … until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

CAS Flower

Hello Everybody,

back again for more. I had a very constructive Saturday making cards, two of which featured my couple of posts with two more to come today.  Is there any better way of chilling out …

My third card from Saturday’s crafting session is a CAS Flower which I am entering in the current Addicted to CAS Challenge, where the theme is ‘Flower’.

CAS Flower

I cut a tent fold card from grey cardstock, stamped the flower image on white card and cut around it on one side. I then stamped the sentiment into the bottom left hand corner before layering the image onto my base card using 3-D foam pads.

What I used: Field Flowers stamp set, basic grey card stock, calypso coral, riding hood red, lucky limeade and basic grey inks from Stampin’UP! plus white card stock from my own stash.

Please feel free to pop round at ATCAS to either join in the fun, see what everybody else has done or both.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Believe in Fairies

Hi Everyone,
as you know I have been rooting through my stamp collection recently … actually it is still an ongoing process …

For today’s post I have chosen a couple of the very first Lavinia Stamps I bought. I got them a few years ago … I think it is about 6 years or maybe 7 … on a trip out to LLangollen in North Wales. We stumbled across a little Art Galerie cum Crafty Type Shop with all sorts of handmade goodies and in it was this little corner selling Fairy Stamps … and of course I was hooked!!!

It is also a card for all those who find creating fairy-dreamy landscapes a bit daunting. Here is the good news: Lavinia’s stamps do work in other settings too. 🙂

I will enter this little fairy into the following challenges:

addicted to stamps and more, where the current theme is CAS

Lavinia Stamps Blog, where anything goes

Addicted to CAS, where the current theme is Wings

Here she is:

Belive in Fairies

I must say the picture doesn’t do the card justice … too many snowy clouds moving overhead today …

Well I stamped the image on pearlised card for added Fairy-Magic and coloured it in with inks using a blender pen, I then pierced the holes, added a hint of Baja Breeze blue to the edges and a hint of glitter to the fairy’s crown. The yellow card is slightly larger than the dark pinky one with a broad border to one side on which I stamped the sentiment.

Hope you like it!!!

Back soon … until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
