ATSM Challenge 93

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #93 – Holiday!!!

Wonder which holiday you’ll be showcasing!  Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Sherry at A Random Fan is sponsoring us again

… and my DT piece for our ‘Holiday’ Challenge is one-layer minimalist CAS  … and I went for a Christmas theme …

Happy Christmas

Yes, you’re seeing right, it’s green and pink for Christmas. Just in case you’re wondering if I haven’t any other inks in my stash given that at the moment all my cards seem to feature these colours … I do have plenty of other colours in my stash, but they are still downstairs, and I have moved most of my crafting stash upstairs … plus pink and green are the heart chakra colours and I do love using them together, they are real feel good colours …

Anyway back to my card … I inked my Christmas Tree in green and stamped it directly on my base card. Next I inked the stars from the same stamp in pink and stamped them slightly higher to one side of my tree. I then stamped some stitching and my sentiment before finishing off by adding some pink gems. Easy and quick, great if you have to make lots of cards.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Holiday’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

Zentangle 1

Yes, you’re seeing right, I have been doodling again trying my hand at Zentngles. I was inspired to make this card by a recent workshop at Happy Stampers Northwest I was lucky to attended as a guest. I have also been sorting out old magazines and found an article on Zentangling, that’s when I thought I’d give it a go. Some of the patters I made up myself, others were copied from tutorials. It is quite easy as all you need are some black fine liner pens and you’re ready to go.

Just for You - outside

This is the outside, and when you open it …

Just for You - inside

… as by magic, this little daisy giving Teddy Bear appears.

I thought the bold colours, large blooms and embossed texture made for an interesting card which didn’t need any further embellishing.

ATSM Challenge 83

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #83 – Holiday!!!

Another great challenge for you, one you’re surely like! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Kathryne from StampArt Design is back again this week as our sponsor.

The winner will receive 5 digis from her store.

We are also welcoming again Cathy R from  Cathy’s Card Spot as our guest designer for the week.

I really love working with Kathryne’s images, and you seem to like them too! My scrapbook look alike LITTLE BEAR CANOE ADVENTURE with it’s outdoorsy look was yet another hit with you. Hope that this week’s card will be another one ..

… and now, with no further ado, to my DT piece for the week:

Lizzie making memories

This week I worked with another image from StampArt Designs. This holidaying little lady is called LIZZIE and perfect for this week’s challenge theme. As you can see I was thinking Summer Holiday again, maybe due to the high winds and rain we’ve had for most of the Winter so far. I needed an antidote …  The sentiments I used are both by StampArt Designs’ from the FOR FUN AND ADVENTURE SENTIMENT sheet.

Again another easy card for you. To start with I sized and printed my image, coloured it using Promarkers and cut it into a squre shape. The film strip frame is hand drawn … gasp! … with the help of a ruler. Luckily I had a 1/4″ square punch. I only needed to cut the large squares into the frame used using my craft knife. I then die-cut and punched my flowers, cut my chosen sentiments and pretty paper to size and layered my elements as shown in the picture before finishing off by adding some gems and glitter glue.

Hope you like it!

Iridescent Pretty Petites

Hi Everybody,
time flies, I was meant to post sooner. Anyway I got some more projects for you:

treat boxes

These are just some quick and easy treat boxes, I wanted to share with you … and of course everyone coming to tomorrow’s class will get one.

treat box

This will give you more detail. these are the little stamps I used when I first tried to stamp on pearlised card as mentioned in my Birthday Flowers post. Using the stampnig-off technique, I stamped the image three times without re-inking the stamp. This gives you a graded shaded effect. I think Keren Baker called it ‘Ombre’ in her latest feature in the ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’ magazine which incidentally I bought after I had stamped the labels. Anyway I liked the effect very much and thought that those little labels would go well with some rainbow coloured card I had. The boxes themselves are just a variation of the pizza box type and easily made from an A5 piece of card, ideal for fudge or nougat.

Whilst I am on the theme of stamping on pearlised card, there are a couple of cards I would also like to share with you:

Tretty Petites cards

Here the stamped labels are layered on an embossed panel of the same pearlised card. The cards are slightly different, one is made using teal coloured core-dination card and the other one uses embossed card stock.

In case you wonder how to get hold of this lovely stamp set, it is called Pretty Petites and is part of the free sets available in Stampin’Up!’s Sale-a-bration promotion. The pins are available from The Ribbon Girl and the centura pearl card from Crafter’s Companion.

Hope you enjoyed my projects.

See you soon.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Fairy Window

Hi Everyone!!!
… back again. There is a bit of a theme developing here … another Fairy Card for you. It doesn’t surprise me with all those spring flowers and blossoms coming out, the fairies will be out sprinkeling their magic too. This one is going to be more of an adult fairy, she has a sense of wisdom, elegance and maturity about her … or is it just my imagination. Judge for yourselves, here she is

Fairy Window

She is also one we will be making in Saturday’s class (Advanced scoring techniques – 9th March). The idea for this card came from a tutorial by Diane Zechman on Splitcoaststampers.

As I don’t have any rectangular nesties, I ended up cutting the aperture with my craft knife. The upside of this is that you can make it any size you need it to be. The fairy stamp came as freebie with Cardmaking & Papercraft a couple of years ago in a Christmas Fairies Set. I think she does very well in a non Christmas setting too. I also used Baker’s twine (from Fantastic Ribbons) instead of organza ribbon, which was used in the original tutorial. I found it easier to pull the blind up. Finished off with little hearts, it looks quite soft and feminine … what do you think …

I also want to join the Ladies at Out of a Hat Creations with this one. Their challenge this week is ‘Hanging about’. I thought, blinds do hang and fairies don’t hang about for long.

Hope you like it.

Oh, before I forget, the pretty paper is from Wild Rose Studios. Got mine free with a magazine a while ago, but I saw it advertised on Crafter’s Companion. Hope they haven’t sold out.

Back soon.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
