Wonderful Acetate and Blog Hop Reminder

Hi Everybody,

thanks for all you lovely comments they are very much appreciated.

This is one of a series of scheduled posts to keep you inspired whilst I’m enjoying the Welsh Sunshine in Morfa Nefyn on the Llyn Penisula in our little caravan.

I have a couple of easy cards using acetate. The first one is very much a CAS card using STAMPlorations’ SKETCHED Simple Gift set. I aligned the stamps on my acrylic block and stamped the in pink StazOn onto my acetate, attached it to my grey panel layered it onto my pink base card.

For the inside, I stamped the gift only in a lighter pink  onto white card and doodled a border as shown.

Because the acetate is slightly wider than the grey card it bows up and you get a wonderful shadow effect which sadly doesn’t show up that well in the photo.

There is also a video on how to make this type of card. Sorry it’s not the most professional, but I’m still learning. I sometimes go a bit off screen, but you can still see quite well how the card is made.

Here is another card I made using the same technique over a stamped background (using Holiday Artsy and SENTIMENT BUILDERS Celebrate) rather than textured card. I intended for the gift and sentiment to be black rather than pink, but my black StazOn had other ideas …. still it does look a treat.

Life is Better

… because of you!

Thanks to all my blogging friends and all your lovely comments I’d say … 🙂

It is time for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations – Sketch Challenge 4, and this is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

I played round with it in my mind … and made one card … but, I felt it wasn’t quite right … so I cam up with the following …

Life is better I

I stamped the trees from the VIGNETTE Trees Silhouettes stamp set by STAMPlorations, you can find it here, in yellow, brown and green on white centura pearl card, cut the pieces to size, edged them with the corresponding inks and attached each to a slightly larger piece of green card. I then edged another piece of pearlised car with yellow and attached it to my green tentfold base card before cutting a slot on one side to feed my ribbon through which I tied in a knot on the inside … thought that would be a nice twist. I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set, attached my tree panels and finished off by adding some clear gems.

And here is my second card, well actually it was the first one I made:

three flowers

For this card I used the Eclectic Florals Stamp Set and the Chevron and Arrows Stamp Set, both are part of the Vignette Range. I combined it with some matching paper from the Vintage Ice Cream Social Digital Paper range from All About Scrapping.

I thought it would be fun to have the three squares from the sketch extending into the background, That’s why I decided to stamp the vases and leaves in orange, and the ribbon became stamped chevrons. I stamped the blossoms in blue and slightly blended the edges before attaching them to my postage squares and adding a turquoise and blue sequin to each using a little brad. Faux stitching and a stamped sentiment finished the card.

Hope you like it.

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog where we welcome Cornelia to the team to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

Happy Stamping!!!

Here is my creation for this week:

Magic Mushrooms

I love this little stamp, it can be used for many occasions. I stamped directly onto my white card and stamped the image again on a separate piece, I coloured the mushrooms, butterfly and the grass using Promarkers. I cut out the little flower shape and rectangle with my craft knife and doodled the dashed dotted border, rounded the edges and attached it to a piece of red card using 3D foam. As you can see the red card shows through the cut out flower and rectangle.

I then coloured and decoupaged the mushroom hats, shaped them and attached them in place using 3D foam pads before finishing off by adding a few red gems.

Over to you now. Hope you feel somewhat inspired as I’d love to see your creations.

Here is my creation for this week:

Spiced Paisley Birthday

I randomly stamped my background in crumb cake, rounded one corner and blended the edges with crumb cake. I then cut a piece of riding hood red and another one of marina mist card, punched a border along one side each and mat and layered them onto a white base card. I attached a piece of marina mist ribbon and stamped the sentiment in black. To finish I stamped the larger paisley shape twice, cut it out and layered it as shown in the picture and added some glitter details using a gel pen. You might have to click on the picture and zoom in to see this detail as it doesn’t show well in the picture.

Over to you now. Hope you feel somewhat inspired as I’d love to see your creations.
