and I pushed the boat out making two projects to inspire you,

here they are:

Happy Easter 1

Happy Easter 2

For my first card, I went for white with a splash of colour. I edged the front right hand side of my tent fold card with a pretty punch (Xcut by docrafts) and stamped my flowers using the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals Set from our sponsor STAMPlorations on a separate piece of white card, stamped my sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes by SU) in black, attached some ribbon and added it to my base card using 3D foam pads.
For my second card I used the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals Set again to stamp my blossoms in yellow and the clear emboss them on pearlised card before blending the edges with some yellow and stamping the stems and leaves in green. I then stamped my sentiment (freebie from past issue of Creative Stamping Magazine) twice, slightly off set the second time to give the illusion of depth, added some faux stitching and layered first on a pice of green and then on my base card.
You might have noticed that my faux stitching doesn’t go over the flowers, I did this to give added depth without having to add another layer.
Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Holiday’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

ATSM Challenge 72

Hi Everybody,

how time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #72 – Make your Mark!!! This means you can use the colouring medium of your choice, be it alcohol markers, water colour pencils. distress markers … the choice is yours. The full details of the challenges and their rules can be found here.

Our sponsor this week is Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

Fresh Squeezed Stamps

The winner will receive one stamp set of their choice.

Here is my DT piece for this week:

Peace on Earth I

This week I tried something new … Metallic Gelato Markers. I was inspired by this tutorial by Lydia Fiedler.

Gelato Pens are soft creamy markers that can be applied directly to your stamp, they can also be used with a water brush to colour in any stamped images. The metallic ones have a subtle shimmer similar to Twinkling H2O’s.

The above card is my 2nd attempt at stamping and colouring. I went for a softer look than in the card below which is my 1st attempt, where the colour for the background/shadow is much stronger.

I decided to attach the image on one side only. This really gives a good impression of a dove in flight flapping it’s wings. A great 3D effect without using foam pads …

Peace on Earth II

… another couple of quick and easy, postage friendly cards!

Hope you like it!

Card Class Makes

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments.

Today I would like to share something from today’s card class with you. As you probably know, I intended to make a Lever Card inspired by a tutorial by Laura Lipe, which you can find HERE.

As always I had to tweak it and do it my way. It went from rectangle to square and from using paper to a stamped background.

Lever Card I

This is the card I originally made. In the class I wanted to demonstrate how the look can change a lot by changing just a couple of things. For my next card I used a different flower for the background, changed the colours and didn’t round all the edges.

Lever card II

As you can see I also positioned the flowers slightly differently and added an extra faux stitched border. Here they are both together:

Lever Card III

I really couldn’t say which one I prefer.

Hope you like them.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Stamping!!! 🙂

For the pink an yellow card I used: Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, Melon Mambo Card, So Saffron, Melon Mambo and Gumball Green Ink from Stampin’UP!; Glitter flowers from docaft Papermania; sentiment Stamp from Dimension Stamps; swirl stamp from Creative Stamping Magazine; white card black fineliner pen, gem, black memento ink, xcut small corner rounder punch and Zutter corner rounder from my stash

For the card with the more autumnal feel I used: Dahlia stamp from Crafter’s Companion Inspirations Magazine; crushed curry, tangerine tango, chocolate chip ink and tangerine tango card from Stampin’Up!; flowers, sentiment and swirl stamps as above; everything else from my stash

Fun in the Sun

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments.

Today I got another Quick Card for you. It is one I made after reading the Joy Fold Card Tutorial in the May issue of the Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. I used some of the free Pink Petticoat papers that came with QCME.

Fun in the Sun

It is a sort of a card within a card, if that makes sense. You got your base card, which rather than being fully double, folds across only half way. To the full size base you then attach a smaller card, mine is square, in a way that the half-size panel of your base card sits within the opening of your smaller card. You might see it a bit more clearly in the following picture:

Fun in the Sun II

I added some pretty papers to my larger base card and edged them with some faux stitching. To decorate the smaller card I stamped the sentiment in yellow, red and blue before using my rope stamp to edge the opening side of my card. I cut out a tag, stamped the boat on it and coloured it in using Promarkers. I then edged my tag with some faux stitching, punched a hole and added an eyelet and ribbon. I then tried different positions for my tag. Once I decided on the one I was happy with, I stamped the seagull and added some faux stitching before adhering the tag with some 3-D foam pads.

The stamps I used are from the current issue of the Creative Stamping Magazine.

Enjoy & Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Love is in the Air

Hello Everybody,

apologies for having been a bit offline recently. I somehow didn’t get round to crafting much.

Well first of all I have a super cute Valentine’s Card for you. It is made with the freebie stamp and paper of the current issue of ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’:

Cute Valentine

Apart from the freebies I used promarkers for colouring; Nellies Multiframes; Memorybox Nottingham Border die; Stampin’Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Poppy Parade cardstock and Word Window Punch; Organza ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; Black Memento Inkpad and red jewels from my own stash.

I also want to share another card with you today. It is one I intended to enter into a challenge on the Addicted to Clean & Simple Blog, but I didn’t have time to make it before the challenge closed. Well there is always another time …

Anyway here it is:

In my heart & in my soul

I just love this stamp, and best of all it is another freebie and available with the current issue of Creative Stamping.

It is a simple black & white theme with a red glitter highlighted heart. To add that little bit extra, I used some Centura White pearlised card from Crafter’s Companion for one of the layers.

Hope you like it.

Please check out my Stamping Classes, I’ve updated the dates. Back with more cards tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
