Nicecrane Vintage Merry Christmas

Hello Everybody,

Today I have five very quick Christmas Cards. As you well know we crafters start making our Christmas cards early. Given that a lot of people were doing them in July, I must be late … hence the quick ones … 🙂

I am using the Vintage Merry Christmas digi images by Nicecrane Designs.

For this card, I simply used a snowflake stamp to stamp the background, blended the edges with red ink, matt and layered onto red card and assembled as shown. I then highlighted bits of the image with glitter glue and added a cream coloured organza ribbon.

For this card I stamped an ornament 3x in blue, without re-inking the stamp in between, towards one side of natural ivory card and blended the edges using red and blue ink. I then matt and layered as shown before finishing off by adding a blue organza ribbon, glitter glue highlights and some light blue gems.

For this card I embossed some white pearlized card, added my image and some gems. I then added my ribbon across one corner as shown and attached it all to my base card using 3-D foam pads before finishing off by adding some glitter glue highlights.

For this card’s background, I used a tree stamp and stamped it once in a darkish green and several times in a very pale green. I then blended the edges in, layered it on red card and attached my image and sentiment before adhering it to my base card and adding gems to finish.

The background for this card is an embossed piece of pearlized card layered on red card and attached to my base card. I then adhered the image slightly off centre and added my ribbon before finishing off with die-cuts and gems.

… and here we are 5 cards later …..

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

All inks used were from Stampin’Up (so were the stamps used to create the backgrounds), die-cut border is a Memory Box Die called Frosty Border and all the ribbons are from Fantastic Ribbons, Embossing Folders used are Snowman ones (not sure who makes them, was a competition win)

Summer Days

Hi Everybody,

You might remember that I recently started using digi stamps, to be precise some lovely vintage ones from Nicecrane Designs.

Well today I got another tasty vintage card for you using my Nicerane digi stamps, this time with a summery theme.

Summer Days

Luckily the sun came out just in time to take the picture outdoors. We had some very heavy rainfall earlier in the day.

I coloured the girl in using Promarker and Spectrum Noir Pens. The rest of the picture is coloured in using some brushmarkers and blender pen. for this I tend to scribble some brushmarker on an acrylic block and then I pick the ink up with my blender pen to colour in. I find that I get a similar effect to using water colour with this technique. As I am new to using digi stamps, I so far haven’t dared using a waterbrush for colouring given that I only have an inkjet printer and I am a bit afraid that the ink might start running …

I am entering this pretty girl into the anything goes challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. Ohhh, I’ve just seen they are doing a blog hop with some prices up for grabs, so make sure you pop over and join in!!!

The sentiment I used is from Lily of the Valley. Here is what else I used: Nellies Multiframes and Lace Border dies, Memory box Tessatina Border die, Spellbinders Nesties Scalloped Circle dies, Cheery Lynn Fern dies, and from Stampin’UP! I used Sizzix Wood grain embossing folder, Boho Flower Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (small flower). The pretty paper is from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady collection.

Have Fun and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Love is in the Air

Hello Everybody,

apologies for having been a bit offline recently. I somehow didn’t get round to crafting much.

Well first of all I have a super cute Valentine’s Card for you. It is made with the freebie stamp and paper of the current issue of ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’:

Cute Valentine

Apart from the freebies I used promarkers for colouring; Nellies Multiframes; Memorybox Nottingham Border die; Stampin’Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Poppy Parade cardstock and Word Window Punch; Organza ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; Black Memento Inkpad and red jewels from my own stash.

I also want to share another card with you today. It is one I intended to enter into a challenge on the Addicted to Clean & Simple Blog, but I didn’t have time to make it before the challenge closed. Well there is always another time …

Anyway here it is:

In my heart & in my soul

I just love this stamp, and best of all it is another freebie and available with the current issue of Creative Stamping.

It is a simple black & white theme with a red glitter highlighted heart. To add that little bit extra, I used some Centura White pearlised card from Crafter’s Companion for one of the layers.

Hope you like it.

Please check out my Stamping Classes, I’ve updated the dates. Back with more cards tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Using some Stash

Hello Everybody,

just a quick card using some of my stash, which incidentally is also the theme of the ‘Out of a Hat Creations’ challenge.

As always this time of year I have been making Christmas cards. The one I want to share with you today has been made using a stamp I had sitting in the draw for some years and I never managed stamping it properly until now. Well I suppose it is thanks to a stamping mat, something which has been on my horizon for a while, but I never thought I needed. I simply got it because I got a bit tired of EZ-mounting my unmounted rubber stamps. I must say it works perfectly well. So here is the card:

The stamp is by Inkadinkado and surprise surprise is still available from Crafty Devils. I just googled it 🙂 … it has been sitting in my draw for at least 6 or so years, I bought it at a Fair which at the time was organised by Courtyard Crafts in Brimstage, that was before they stopped trading and became Little Claire stamps. It tickled me at the time to think that I would be able to send Christmas cards, telling everybody that my husband is a ‘Saint’. 😀 lol

The doCrafts ribbon is from last year and got never used, the papers were freebies from last year … do I need to say more …

I added colour highlights using water-colour pencils and distressed the edges using tea stain and ruby red inks from Stampin’UP! (I think they are both retired). The edges were blended with white craft ink to give a snowy effect. The snowflake die is a Memory Box one.

Enjoy!!!

Back tomorrow … until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
