ATSM Challenge 66

Hi Everybody,

how time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #60 – Anything Goes!!!

I know this will be very popular as you can allow your inspiration to roam freely and craft whatever you fancy.

Our sponsor this week is ….  Nicecrane Designs,

The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to spend at their online store. Pop over to the shop and have a look what fabulous images $20 can buy you …

For this week’s DT piece I have decided to do something different … and I have been thinking ‘handmade presents’ … they always come in handy, especially as nobody can deny that we are a sort of coming up to Christmas.

I have used a Nicecrane image sheet, a collection of 8 pre-coloured images. Here it is, my DT piece for this week:

Punky Dunk Gold Fish I

I made a little story book as a keepsake using the Punky Dunk And The Gold Fish Set.

Punky Dunk Gold Fish II

Below is a little overview of most of the book’s pages. I arranged the images in a way that they would tell a little story and kept the embellishments to a minimum to let the story shine through. As I was planning this project, a couple of friends came to mind, who are cat lovers and recently lost their great feline companion …

The tag on this first page fits in behind the little poem

Punky Dunk Gold Fish III

For the background I used stamps and pretty paper. I also added my own titles which I made up on my computer.

Punky Dunk Gold Fish IV

My embellishments are made up of die-cut shapes, pearls and candi.

Punky Dunk V

Punky Dunk VI

Punky Dunk VII

Punky Dunk Gold Fish VIII

I also left some space to add a personal message or two …

Nicecrane Designs Birds Family CS

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for your lovely comments.

As promised, I have some more creations made using Nicecrane Designs digi stamps/images. It is a sort of continuation of yesterday’s DT post for Addicted to Stamps and More (ATSM). As you well know I am also designing for Nicecrane Designs, and given that Ignacio is sponsoring this month’s challenges at ATSM, I shall be posting lots more projects using his images.

For today I made four cards using the remaining 4 images, one was used for yesterday’s DT post, of the Birds Family CS. All the images have incredible detail and, of course, are pre-coloured, which makes for quick and easy cards.

Here are my creations:

Birds Family Christmas I

I used this beautiful image of birds in the snow to make this simply sparkling traditional Christmas card. I copied and pasted the image into a word document, set the image width to 7.5 cm, something I did for all of the bird images, and printed the image on white card.

I cut my image and layered it on a piece of black card stock. For my background I embossed a piece of foiled card with snowflakes and layered it on black card stock. I layered my image onto my background off-set from the centre as shown and added a ribbon down one side and adhered it to my base card. I then die cut two snowflakes from holographic card, added a brad to the middle before adhering them to the card and finishing off by adding a Peel-Off sentiment.

For my next card, I printed the image twice and decoupaged the birds.

Birds Family Christmas II

I edged one of my images with black and layered it on a piece of dork orange card, which I also edged with black. I then embossed a strip of blue card with some snowflakes and glued it to my tentfold grey base card before adhering my image on top and tying my ribbon into a bow. I then shaped my decoupaged birds and layered them as shown. This card could be used for a birthday, thank you card or a more contemporary Christmas card.

This next card is for Kylie over in OZ …

Birds Family Spring

This is a simple mat and layer card with an added sentiment and some sparkly gems and glitter … enjoy!

For my last card I wanted to show how one can use the images as part of an embellishment. Here it is:

Birds Family Autumn

I tried to go for what I would call Modern Vintage, modern, because it is without frill and lace … at least that’s what I think.

This card shows how you can combine hand stamping with digital images. I created my background using various stamps and autumn coloured inks. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and embossed using brown embossing powder. You need to allow some time for your background to dry before stamping and embossing your sentiment. If the background is still too damp, the embossing powder will stick to it too and not just your sentiment.

Whilst my background was drying, I die-cut my leaves and flower and punched out my little bird and edged it with dark red ink. I also slightly blended the edges of my leaves with brown ink. Once my background was dry, I embossed my sentiment and mat & layered my card as shown. I finished off by adding a couple of pearls and glossy accents to my bird.

That’s it from me for today. Hope you like my projects. Back with lots more inspiration on Nicecrane Designs Images next week.

Until then …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

ATSM Challenge 65

Hi Everybody,

how time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #60 – Photo Inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is ….  Nicecrane Designs,

The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to spend at their online store. Pop over to the shop and have a look what fabulous images $20 can buy you …

… and the photo to take your inspiration from is …

As you can see, there is lots of scope here. You got flowers, fruit, pumpkins, leaves, autumn colours to mention just a few.

I have one Nicecrane image I decided on and had a play with. It is from the Birds Family CS collection of 5 pre-coloured images. Here it is, my DT piece for this week:

Birds Family CS

I went with colours autumn colours and leaves for my inspiration. The bird images make for quick and easy cards ideal for any occasion. I simply printed the image, cut it out and layered it as shown in the picture after running a black inkpad along the edges.

Before you ask … the writing on the DS paper is side on because I liked the vertical broken line effect rather than going for stripes.

New Home in Nature

Hello Everybody,

back again. Where has the week gone … well I don’t know. thought I’d better get blogging if I want to join into the Out of a Hat Creations Challenge.

There is so much I could do with and say about Nature most of which is a sort of included in the card I would like to share with you. I made it for a friend who recently moved house after having sold hers. She moved to quite a rural location, plus we are on the same caravan site on a Farm in North Wales, well that is from Easter next year again.

So we got birds, flowers, trees, leaves, bird houses … nature in short. I lightly sponged the base card in turquoise, the pink background for the panel is stamped. I tried something new here, I applied ink to my splodge mat and pressed the paper onto the mat to pick up the ink. You probably get a similar effect by inking up an acrylic block and use that as a stamp. I got the mat after having seen it used in a demo at the Stamp Fair in Hulme Hall the other week. It is very good for achieving subtle effects when brayering, and I used it in that way to create the stamped paper for the inside of the birthday calendar in my previous post.

As I said for today’s card I used it as a sort of stamp. To colour the images simply pick up ink with a blender pen. The stamp is one I had for a few years, and it is by Magenta (0439), the tags are from my stash; bakers twine, ribbon punch and inks are from Stampin’UP!

That’s it for today. See you soon.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
