Thinking of Christmas

Hi Everybody,

back again with a quick post. Thanks for your lovely comments!

Christmas is fast approaching and everybody is looking for stocking fillers and gifts. I tend to make some notecards in pretty boxes this time of year. They make great gifts for friends and family. This year I am also venturing into unchartered crafting territory, for me that is, by making some more ambitious projects … well I got them started and shall keep you updated on the progress.

For today it’s notelets and boxes. These are really quick to make and great if you need a good stash of them ready in time for Christmas. Here they are:

pink notelets

… and because it’s so nice in pink …

turquoise notelet

… I made another set in turquoise! šŸ™‚

These are one-layer cards, the background is stamped in the lighter colour and the swirl in the matching darker colour right on top … no masking or layering!!! To finish I simply stamped the sentiment in black and added sequins in a contrasting colour … that was easy … and quick!!!

I would like to enter these cards in the ‘Stamps and Sequins’ Challenge at Stamplorations.

And now to the boxes I made to fit these notelets:

Pink notelet box

… the pink and the turquoise one …

turquoise notelet box

… sorry, the turquoise doesn’t stand out from the blue background, but I hope that you don’t mind …

I cut an aperture in the lid and recycled some acetate packaging to back it. To close the box I simply punched a strip of lace ribbon long enough to for a closed loop, which slides over the box, and decorated it with die-cut swirl and flower … oh, and of course, a matching sequin to finish.

Hope you like it!

Back soon …

Happy Crafting!!! šŸ™‚

here is what I used:

Summer Days

Hi Everybody,

You might remember that I recently started using digi stamps, to be precise some lovely vintage ones from Nicecrane Designs.

Well today I got another tasty vintage card for you using my Nicerane digi stamps, this time with a summery theme.

Summer Days

Luckily the sun came out just in time to take the picture outdoors. We had some very heavy rainfall earlier in the day.

I coloured the girl in using Promarker and Spectrum Noir Pens. The rest of the picture is coloured in using some brushmarkers and blender pen. for this I tend to scribble some brushmarker on an acrylic block and then I pick the ink up with my blender pen to colour in. I find that I get a similar effect to using water colour with this technique. As I am new to using digi stamps, I so far haven’t dared using a waterbrush for colouring given that I only have an inkjet printer and I am a bit afraid that the ink might start running …

I am entering this pretty girl into the anything goes challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. Ohhh, I’ve just seen they are doing a blog hop with some prices up for grabs, so make sure you pop over and join in!!!

The sentiment I used is from Lily of the Valley. Here is what else I used: Nellies Multiframes and Lace Border dies, Memory box Tessatina Border die, Spellbinders Nesties Scalloped Circle dies, Cheery Lynn Fern dies, and from Stampin’UP! I usedĀ Sizzix Wood grain embossing folder, Boho Flower Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (small flower). The pretty paper is from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady collection.

Have Fun and Happy Crafting!!! šŸ™‚

Love is in the Air

Hello Everybody,

apologies for having been a bit offline recently. I somehow didn’t get round to crafting much.

Well first of all I have a super cute Valentine’s Card for you. It is made withĀ the freebie stamp and paper of the current issue of ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’:

Cute Valentine

Apart from the freebies I used promarkers for colouring; Nellies Multiframes; Memorybox Nottingham Border die; Stampin’Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Poppy ParadeĀ cardstockĀ and Word Window Punch; Organza ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; Black Memento InkpadĀ and red jewels from my own stash.

I also want to share another card with you today. It is one I intended to enter into a challenge on the Addicted to Clean & Simple Blog, but I didn’t have timeĀ to make it before the challenge closed. Well there is always another time …

Anyway here it is:

In my heart & in my soul

I just love this stamp, and best of all it is another freebie and available with the current issue of Creative Stamping.

It is a simple black & white theme with a red glitter highlighted heart. To add that little bit extra, I used someĀ Centura White pearlised card from Crafter’s Companion for one of the layers.

Hope you like it.

Please check out my Stamping Classes, I’ve updated the dates. Back with more cards tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting!!! šŸ™‚
