This and That

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
Today I want to share a few cards with you which were the projects of last Saturday’s Make & Take Class. It also be gives me the opportunity to try out my new tablet which arrived today. šŸ˜‰
This is where I had intended to make some cards, but hey …. Loving it so far especially as using the tablet provides me with a more natural reading position.
Back to the cards …

This is my favourite, looks like a lot of work, but is very easy to do. I simply inked up an acrylic block and stamped it onto a piece of white card. Yes, I used the one with the ridge again. I then stamped the Christmas Tree and sentiment in a darker blue and my card was finished. Tree and sentiment are Penny Black stamps which came as a gift with a magazine recently.

Given that the tree is a kind of dotty, I would like to enter this card over at Addicted to CAS where the theme is DOTS.
On to my next card which uses an Inkwell stamp that came with the Craft Stamper magazine a while ago …

This is another easy to make card. I stamped the stars in black on a piece of white card, layered on a slightly larger piece of black and then onto my base card. Doodled border, gems and peel-off complete the look.
Next up are a couple of projects using the penguin papers from the docrafts creativity club.

I fuzzy cut the smallest of the penguins and added a shaped decoupaged layer over its face and belly. I then die cut my border using my new Lil-inker dies from Make The Day Special, stamped my greeting in black and layered it onto my base card using blue dotted paper as background before finishing off with an orange star.
The next card is a bit of fun …

Simple fuzzy cutting, ink spritzing and stamping … The keen observer will have noticed that I used my favourite stitching stamp from STAMPlorations too. It is always good to build it n for grounding images. šŸ™‚
Last up is one where I tried my hand at colouring on vellum …

Hope you enjoyed my little offering today, back soon with more makes, until then
Happy Crafting!!! šŸ˜€

Ice Cream & Dream

Hello Everybody!

How time flies. I so looked forward to going to the HobbyCraft Fair at Aintree … and now it’s all over. Well Alison spoke to one of the exhibitors and they mentioned that it was the last one at Aintree because it’s moving to Manchester’s Event City. Apparently it is going to be on a larger scale with more space for demonstrations and make & takes. Would be great if there was a train station right outside. will have to find that one out.

Never mind, I was able to bag a bargain or two … I had to make a quick couple of bits for the craft fair yesterday and I managed to create these funky covered notepads … the delights of summer in a handbag …

… strawberry ice cream and picnics. I can just hear you say dream on. šŸ™‚Ā Ā The ice cream punch was one of the bargains and all I used were some pretty papers, funnily enough they came from a pack called picnic in the park I think it was and I got them last year with a magazine, the pinkĀ paper is from Wild rose Studio … add a bit of glitter glue … Ā and you have delicious ice cream.

The other punch, again a bargain, is one of the new Tonic Studio Border punches and it is a delight to use. The labelĀ punch is from Stampin’UP!

Unfortunately the fair wasn’t busy, on the upside I now got plenty of stock left for next month (26th May), and all I have to do is work on the presentation.

Tomorrow I am seeing Dianne and Fanny for a crafty exchange. I know one of the things I will do, but I am still looking for inspirationĀ for the other one. This is where I am starting to dream … maybe I need some magic here …

I worked with my homemade spray inks to create the background. The stamps I used are from Lily of the Valley (LOTV) and Penny Black; the punch is from Creative Memories; early espresso cardstock, peach parfait and pumpkin pie inksĀ from Stampin’UP!; everything else from your local craft shop.

Hope you like it. Back again later in the week for the Out of a Hat Creations Challenge. Until then…

Happy Crafting!!!

Oh, I almost forgot, I also updated the Stamping Classes page with new dates. xxx
