November Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hi Everybody,

back again with some more information for you. This time it’s for the November Challenge at STAMPlorations, which is STAMPS & LAYERS.

Most of us use stamps and layers, real or false ones, all the time without thinking much about it hence this should be an easy one for you all to join into.

This time round we are welcoming Lee-Anne Cross from Creatively LA as our guest designer, feel free to pop over and check out her amazing creations.

My main DT piece is this starry card …

DSC_1004

for which I used the following stamp sets: Joyful, Holiday Artsy and SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Christmas & New Year.

I started off by stenciling some pink stars on a piece of white card, stamping the CHRISTMAS sentiment from the Sentiment Builders in white craft ink on a die cut vellum star and the gift from the Joyful ser on it’s matching die cut (SVG file and eclips). I coloured my gift using Twinkling H2Os and layered a golden star border onto my vellum star. I then layered all the elements as shown, stamped my sentiment from the Holiday Artsy set and attached a matching bow to finish.

My next card is one I want to share more for the ideas rather than its execution. It is one where I probably wanted to pack too much into …. false layers, stamping across two layers, introducing my latest gadget MISTI (in the video) ….

DSC_1005

Well, let’s start by explaining a bit more about my thought process. The background is one I made in my Gelli Plate tutorial and I wanted to add some darker stamped wreaths to it thinking that it would create another perceived layer which it did. My stamping wasn’t as accurate as it normally is, I probably was rushing myself a bit, never mind, hope you’re getting the idea. The stamping across the two layers didn’t go to plan, guess my piece of card was a little too thick and I forgot to use my stamping mat too. As it turns out it probably was for the best, it keeps the focus on the stocking. Sprinkling Liquid Pearls with glitter was a bit of a mixed success, I have to work on getting my dots a little smaller, but it works wonders on the stocking … you can really see the glitter sparkle. ūüôā

I shall be uploading the video too, it is far from perfect, please bear that in mind when watching …

Back to the challenge …

it will run until 30th November and the winner will be announced 4th December and of course there’ll be the usual fantastic prize.

This month we also have a new twist to our challenges, you only have to play once to be entered into our monthly frequent players prize draw, where the winner will get to pick  3 stamps from our soon to be launched DIGI Stamps Range.

These will be launched sometime after our upcoming NOVEMBER STAMP RELEASE BLOG HOP or more precisely towards the end of this month or early December. Just as a reminder the winner of our Sketch #23 challenge which is still in full swing here will get to choose 3 digital products from All About Scrapping plus a Guest Designer Spot for our Sketch #26 Challenge next year.

Looking ahead … due to our 5-DAY BLOG HOP our Sketch #24 Challenge will start 24th November and will be a super long one as it will end 28th December. It is a sort of our Chrisrmas present to you as you can enter more than 3 times plus there will be extra prizes for you to win, details nearer the time.

And now before I leave, a quick reminder about our Blog Hop … it’s due to start Monday 17th November 2pm GMT (6am PST). Each day we will be focusing on one of the new sets which means 5 days of BLISS ….

Sketch 13 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming¬†Deepti¬†from Dee’s Art Utopia back as our guest designer!!! Click on her name to check out her fantastic makes.

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 27th June and the winner will be announced on the 29th June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog.

I personally came up with the following interpretation using some of the new¬†release stamps, but before we’ll get there, a quick reminder of the inside which I posted as a teaser last Friday ūüėĬ†…

celebrate inside

Well I used Celebrate Artsy and VIGNETTE It’s Your Day for the inside and the front of my card plus SENTIMENT BUILDER Celebrate for the large sentiment on the front. All of them and more can be found in our Pre-release Bundle Offer.

celebrate

As you can see I took the stripes as my inspiration. The background is stamped in yellow and pink using one of the brush stroke stamps from the Celebrate Artsy set. I then stamped the candles only from the cake of the It’s Your Day set in black, edged my panel with black and layered it onto a piece of black card and then onto my white base card. To finish I stamped the sentiment (from SENTIMENT BUILDER Celebrate) onto a strip of white card, egded it with black and layered as shown before adding some card candy.

Initially I wanted to use buttons, but somehow it didn’t look quite right, cards somehow have their own mind. I think this card has a somewhat masculine feel about it. The pink doesn’t look girly at all!

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping¬†and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

As always there is a Twist … If you enter all three challenges in June you’ll be entered in a prize draw to win 3 fab TH stencils.

If you haven’t been able to enter our first challenge in June, look out for the Twist in July, there will be another fab prize up for grabs.
Happy Stamping!!! ūüėÄ

Oh, and before I go, keep watching out for our Birthday Blog Hop next week!!!!

Sketch 13 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming¬†Monika¬†from the sunny land of Oz as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 13th June and the winner will be announced on the 15st June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations¬†Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretation using SENTIMENT BUILDER Happy, VIGNETTE Retro Mod Shapes and Chevron & Arrows. ¬†ūüėĬ†…

retro happy

As you can see I went all dotty on you with some bright cheery colours.

First I covered my strips using masking tape, then I sponged my background using crisp cantaloupe ink and a dotty stencil, removed my tape and added the lines and faux stitching with a fine liner pen. I then stamped my sentiment in strawberry slush and black, did some more masking and stamped the pink circles (strawberry slush). I punched three 3/4″ circles and stamped the green circles (pistachio pudding and coastal cabana) before layering them onto my card and finishing off with some sequins.

Well I just managed to sneak in a second card …

Grungy Birthday

For this grungy birthday card I worked with the VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips which I stamped in smoky grey on my blue base card and the SENTIMENT BUILDER Happy which is stamped in black and hot pink. I then simply die cut some swirls punched a couple of white flowers and a heart shape from scrap.

TIP: The beauty about solid shapes is that you can easily alter them as I’ve done with the heart by including the swirly bit from my scrap (leftover from die cutting). I dabbed my shapes directly onto the ink pad to add texture and shading¬†(hot pink for the heart and rose red for the flowers).

Sorry I haven’t done any tutorials of late, but I am still re-organising the craft space. The good news is it should be finished in a couple of weeks … at least that’s the plan.

For now I hope you like my cards and feel inspired by my little tips and tricks …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping¬†and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

As always there is a twist … If you enter all three challenges in June you’ll be entered in a prize draw to win 3 fab stencils. More details are on the STAMPloratios Blog. Will update you with a picture tonight when I get in from work.
Happy Stamping!!! ūüėÄ

ATSM Challenge 84

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at¬†Addicted to Stamps and More¬†…¬†¬†Challenge #84 – CAS!!!

Another great challenge for you, one you’re surely like! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Kathryne from StampArt Design is back again this week as our sponsor.

The winner will receive 5 digis from her store.

We are also welcoming again Cathy R from ¬†Cathy’s Card Spot¬†as our guest designer for the week.

This week I’ve done something different. After the cute outdoorsy¬†LITTLE BEAR CANOE ADVENTURE¬†and LIZZIE¬†on the beach I went for for a more grunge-retro look, at least that’s my name for it. Here it is …

Wherever you go

I thought this could be quite a good encouragement card for some one leaving a job or moving away for example.

This week I worked with a sentiment from StampArt Designs. Again it is one from the FOR FUN AND ADVENTURE SENTIMENT sheet. I cut it out with using a tag shaped die and used it as a starting point and allowed the rest of the card develop around it. I stuck 2 pieces of Washi tape to a piece of white card, stamped the circles in Sahara Sand, placed my tag into position without adhering, maked the sentiment off and stamped the chevrons in Island Indigo. I then removed my tag and stamped some more chevrons in Sahara Sand and the dotty stripes in black. I then stamped some splattery spots in Island Indigo, added a die-cut heart and adhered my tag into position before finishing off by adding some black gems and silvery metal embellies. I rounded two corners and adhered my topper first to a piece of Island Indigo and then to my white tent-fold base card.

Hope you like it!

Hope¬†that you feel inspired¬†to enter¬†this week’s ‘CAS’ challenge at ATSM,¬†please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Please join the fun … look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

A little Birdie

Hi Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments. They were very much appreciated, and I shall catch up with you tomorrow.

Today I got a very cute card I want to share with and also enter into the following challenges:

Moo-Mania wants Birds

CAS(e) this sketch is working with the following sketch

I also want to use this as a reminder piece for the monthly STAMPlorations Challenge which is ‘stamps and feathers’

… and here is my piece:

a little birdie

I started off stamping the stitched border using a stamp from the Graphic Squares set of the Patchwork Frenzy Range by STAMPlorations in light grey, I then stamped my feathers (Trendy Feathers by STAMPlorations coloured with Mavry pens) before stamping my sentiment (freebie from Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine, think it was issue 87 or 89). I then used my bird builder punch (from Stampin’UP!) to punch the shapes from white shrink plastic before colouring them with¬†blossom, pastel yellow and pastel blue and stamping with¬†one of the feather stamps and matching inks to add texture before heating them with my heat tool to shrink the shapes. Once cooled I glued them in position and finished by adding some doodled musical notes and gem.

… and her is one I was able to take outside and in focus …

a little birdie 2

Hope you like it.

Have a great weekend and …

Happy Crafting!!! ūüôā

Candi Cards

Hello Everybody,

today I got 2 cards to share. They are made using Card Candi, available from Craftwork Cards.

Here they are:

Candi Blossoms

I just simply stamped a daisy chain using the freebie Candi stamps from Simply Cards & Papercraft’s January issue, coloured them in with promarkers and added a piece of Candi to the centres, finishing off with a little bit of glitter, ribbon and scored lines.

Here is the 2nd card:

Candi Heart

It uses the heart from¬†the same stamp set. I think it looks a bit like a gingerbread heart and the Candi looks as if it is decorated with smarties … maybe I should have drawn some smily faces on them …

Hope you like them.

Back shortly with more …

Happy Crafting!!! ūüôā

Love is in the Air

Hello Everybody,

apologies for having been a bit offline recently. I somehow didn’t get round to crafting much.

Well first of all I have a super cute Valentine’s Card for you. It is made with¬†the freebie stamp and paper of the current issue of ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’:

Cute Valentine

Apart from the freebies I used promarkers for colouring; Nellies Multiframes; Memorybox Nottingham Border die; Stampin’Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Poppy Parade¬†cardstock¬†and Word Window Punch; Organza ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; Black Memento Inkpad¬†and red jewels from my own stash.

I also want to share another card with you today. It is one I intended to enter into a challenge on the Addicted to Clean & Simple Blog, but I didn’t have time¬†to make it before the challenge closed. Well there is always another time …

Anyway here it is:

In my heart & in my soul

I just love this stamp, and best of all it is another freebie and available with the current issue of Creative Stamping.

It is a simple black & white theme with a red glitter highlighted heart. To add that little bit extra, I used some¬†Centura White pearlised card from Crafter’s Companion for one of the layers.

Hope you like it.

Please check out my Stamping Classes, I’ve updated the dates. Back with more cards tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting!!! ūüôā
