Sketch 13 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia back as our guest designer!!! Click on her name to check out her fantastic makes.

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 27th June and the winner will be announced on the 29th June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog.

I personally came up with the following interpretation using some of the new release stamps, but before we’ll get there, a quick reminder of the inside which I posted as a teaser last Friday 😀 …

celebrate inside

Well I used Celebrate Artsy and VIGNETTE It’s Your Day for the inside and the front of my card plus SENTIMENT BUILDER Celebrate for the large sentiment on the front. All of them and more can be found in our Pre-release Bundle Offer.

celebrate

As you can see I took the stripes as my inspiration. The background is stamped in yellow and pink using one of the brush stroke stamps from the Celebrate Artsy set. I then stamped the candles only from the cake of the It’s Your Day set in black, edged my panel with black and layered it onto a piece of black card and then onto my white base card. To finish I stamped the sentiment (from SENTIMENT BUILDER Celebrate) onto a strip of white card, egded it with black and layered as shown before adding some card candy.

Initially I wanted to use buttons, but somehow it didn’t look quite right, cards somehow have their own mind. I think this card has a somewhat masculine feel about it. The pink doesn’t look girly at all!

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

As always there is a Twist … If you enter all three challenges in June you’ll be entered in a prize draw to win 3 fab TH stencils.
b6fd5-juneprizepackage
If you haven’t been able to enter our first challenge in June, look out for the Twist in July, there will be another fab prize up for grabs.
Happy Stamping!!! 😀

Oh, and before I go, keep watching out for our Birthday Blog Hop next week!!!!

Sketch 13 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Monika from the sunny land of Oz as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 13th June and the winner will be announced on the 15st June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretation using SENTIMENT BUILDER Happy, VIGNETTE Retro Mod Shapes and Chevron & Arrows.  😀 …

retro happy

As you can see I went all dotty on you with some bright cheery colours.

First I covered my strips using masking tape, then I sponged my background using crisp cantaloupe ink and a dotty stencil, removed my tape and added the lines and faux stitching with a fine liner pen. I then stamped my sentiment in strawberry slush and black, did some more masking and stamped the pink circles (strawberry slush). I punched three 3/4″ circles and stamped the green circles (pistachio pudding and coastal cabana) before layering them onto my card and finishing off with some sequins.

Well I just managed to sneak in a second card …

Grungy Birthday

For this grungy birthday card I worked with the VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips which I stamped in smoky grey on my blue base card and the SENTIMENT BUILDER Happy which is stamped in black and hot pink. I then simply die cut some swirls punched a couple of white flowers and a heart shape from scrap.

TIP: The beauty about solid shapes is that you can easily alter them as I’ve done with the heart by including the swirly bit from my scrap (leftover from die cutting). I dabbed my shapes directly onto the ink pad to add texture and shading (hot pink for the heart and rose red for the flowers).

Sorry I haven’t done any tutorials of late, but I am still re-organising the craft space. The good news is it should be finished in a couple of weeks … at least that’s the plan.

For now I hope you like my cards and feel inspired by my little tips and tricks …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

As always there is a twist … If you enter all three challenges in June you’ll be entered in a prize draw to win 3 fab stencils. More details are on the STAMPloratios Blog. Will update you with a picture tonight when I get in from work.
Happy Stamping!!! 😀

Sketch 12 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Hope you had a great Easter!

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Debbie as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 30th May and the winner will be announced on the 1st June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretations using some of the new May Release stamps 😀 …

I am still perfecting my Desktop Grunge Look or shall I say Crafter’s Workspace Grunge hence I made another card in this style using the Thank You Sentiment Builder, VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips and Holiday Artsy sets plus the Vintage Icecream Social DSP from All About Scrapping.

May Thank s

I randomly stamped the smaller words from the Thank You SENTIMENT BUILDER onto my base card making sure that the highlighted ‘YOU’ would line up with the corner of my DSP which I had already stamped with two green Gunge Floral Strips and the word ‘THANK’. I edged my DSP with black and attached it to my base card. I then stamped the Grunge Floral Strip again in dark pink on a piece of white card, cut it to size and attached it using 3D foam. I then stamped the splatters and the ring into position, edged the card with black ink and finished off by adding just one sequin.

For my next card I used a simple red-white colour scheme combined with embossing and the new Dare SUBWAY ART BUILDER to make this fresh and cheerful looking card…

DSC_0419

I embossed my white base card using a swirly leaf patterned embossing folder and added some faux stitching. The red core-dinations card is embossed in a floral pattern, sanded and directly layered onto my base card. I then stamped the whole Dare Builder in red onto white card and added some faux stitching before layering as seen. I finished off by adding 3 red gems and a tiny glazed heart.

Despite all the embossing I think that my card still has a CAS feel about it and I’ve decided to enter it into this week’s ‘Flower’ challenge at Less is More.

Hope you like my cards and feel inspired …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

Sketch 11 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Hope you had a great Easter!

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Mynnette from On a Stampage as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 16th and the winner will be announced on the 18th May!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretations using some of the new stamps due to be released later this week 😀 …

Happy Day

I used the Happy SUBWAY ART BUILDER and as you can see I pretty much followed the sketch for my first card and simply added 3 little stars instead of banners.

For my next card I created what I would call the Desktop Grunge Look or shall I say Crafter’s Workspace Grunge, if mine is anything to go by. I wanted it to look like accidental doodling, stamping etc …

Thanks

I went off the sketch a bit in as much that I added a little sticky note courtesy of Shery, who owns STAMPlorations of course, … she attaches them to stamps she sends out … in fact I made this card with her in mind. She is AMAZING! I teamed the Thank You Sentiment Builder (New Release) with the It’s All About You and  Holiday Artsy sets, stamped all of the small words that come with the builder on DSP (Vintage Icecream Social from All About Scrapping) to create my background, I then stamped my panel, blended some inks and attached it all to my base card before adding the splashes and circles, metal heads and upturned corners.

My last card has a feel of ….. well see what you make of it. It is a card that just happened, I intended it to look different from what it turned out to be … Is it a new style coming through? I don’t know …

Dare

I used one of the new SUBAWAY ART BUILDERS and the VIGNETTE Chevron and Arrows set on a stenciled background, doodled border and tiny diamond glazed heart.

Sketch 10 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Hope you had a great Easter!

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Carol as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 2nd and the winner will be announced on the 4th May!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following two interpretations for which I used some pearlescent pigment inks to add some luminosity to my projects …

Trees with Shadow For my first card I added some dash-dotted lines to follow the sketch. I inked up one of the trees from the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes stamp set with Violet and stamped it into the upper marked area and immediately stamped the shadow image below into the lower marked area without re-inking. I repeated this twice more before finishing my card off by rounding some corners and adding a square sequin.

For my second card below, I started off in a similar way and then turned the sketch by 90  degrees.

Dreaming Butterfly

I masked off my marked areas and sponged some Soft Pink, Dusky Rose, Mantis Green and Aqua inks to create some shading. I removed my masks and inked up my sentiments in the two green shades and stamped them onto my right hand panel before inking up my butterfly in the two pink shades and stamping it into my left hand panel and again on a piece of white card. Both butterfly and sentiments are from the VIGNETTE Artful Flutters stamp set. At this point I would have liked to add some splashes and circles from the Holiday Artsy Set, which is in stock again, but, due to Easter, it was still in the post and didn’t arrive in time. Instead I simply inked up some stars and finished the card by fuzzy cutting and adhering my butterfly.

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Kathy as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 18th April and the winner will be announced on the 20th – Easter Sunday!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following two interpretations …

Patchwork Hearts

Tree Diamond

For my first card I created some patchwork hearts using the PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares Set which I teamed up with my favourite DSP, Love and Lipstick Tricks a digital paper from our sister shop  All About Scrapping who is also the sponsor of our prize.

I changed the sketch in as much that I used a fancy border at the bottom and stamped my sentiment on one of the hearts instead.

For my second card I arranged my elements in a diamond shape rather than a square. I also used some ribbon as part of my backdrop for the trees which are from the VIGNETTE Tree Silhouettes Set. Another DSP from our sister shop  All About Scrapping called Vintage Ice Cream Social completes the look.

Hope you like my card and feel inspired …

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretation …

MOM 2

I used the MOM stamp from the new SUBWAY ART BUILDER range, more details can be found here  … and stamped it in two different colours before chopping my images up to create banners. I only used three which means there is plenty left for some more cards! 🙂 I am so excited about these stamps, simply because they are so versatile, you can stamp them as a whole, colour each line with a different marker, only use one of the sentiments, chop them up … I would say you’re only limited by your imagination!

For my background I used my favourite DSP, Love and Lipstick Tricks a digital paper from our sister shop  All About Scrapping who is also the sponsor of our prize. I also cut a small piece of pink card and stamped one of the small flowers from the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals stamp set on a scrap of white card and fuzzy cut it. I then layered my elements as can be seen in the photo on my white tent fold base card and added my flower, gem and sequins to finish …

Hope you like my card and feel inspired …

MOM I

… I would also like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of the new SUBWAY ART BUILDER Stamps simply called MOM and perfect for Mother’s Day. They are due to be released later on this month. You can either stamp them as a whole or use single lines. I like to regard them as sets in their own right as each stamp has several lines to use.

Shery has a fantastic pre-release offer on her new stamp sets. You’ll get 30% off if you buy all 5 of them. I know they are coming from the States, but her prices are very reasonable and she charges a flat shipping rate which is very reasonable again. More details can be found here  … I am so excited about these stamps, simply because they are so versatile …

For my card I coloured each line separately using markers, stamped and cut to size before attaching my word image to a piece of grey textured card. I then punched two borders from a piece of withe card and attached some cream paper twine before layering it on a slightly larger piece of grey card and then on my tent fold base card. I stamped some flowers from the VIGNETTE Eclectic Florals stamp set and fuzzy cut them. I attached my topper, added my flowers and some pearls to finish …

Hope you like my card and feel inspired …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

Sketch 6 Challenge at STAMPlorations

and ‘Keep Calm and Craft On’ …

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our challenges, sketch and monthly, in January. We had some great entries. Hope you’ll be joining us again for the Sketch #6 Challenge. Here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

I did something different for this sketch challenge … it is not a card … it’s the cover for my Stamp Storage Book, which I made for my lovely STAMPlorations stamps:

Stamp Storage Book

It is something I had in mind for a while, and finally this week I felt I had to give it a go. I won’t go into too much detail, as I’ve made a couple of YouTube videos, which can be found here. I still need to edit the second video before uploading it. I went over time and got my tongue in a twist a few times, but I stayed calm and crafted on … well the cough didn’t help either. I am hoping to be able to take the lengthy coughing spell out, should have taken some water with me, just in case … will do next time. Also Shery will showcase the videos later in the week, they will be ready by then.

In brief … for my cover I stamped on cream slightly rougher card for an antique look finish using the PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Pentagons and  the VIGNETTE Artful Flutters stamp sets by STAMPlorations. It is a one layer cover and I did some masking before stamping my pentagon shape in river rock, always artichoke, poppy parade and riding hood red. I did some blending to highlight my masked shapes before removing the masks and further blending in the label shape. I then stamped my sentiments in artichoke.

I have some more projects planned for tutorials using STAMPloration stamps, and my samples are already done, just need to do the recording …

Hope you like my little book and feel inspired to try making something different …

Shery has made a video tutorial for her card, a very artsy one. Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see hers and all the other amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

I am leaving you with a sneak preview of the new SUBWAY ART BUILDER stamps due for release in March …

Happy Stamping!!!

Here is what else I used: Zutter ‘Bind it All’, ‘Keep Calm’ stamp from Hobbycraft and inks mentioned above from Stampin’Up!, cream card, ribbons and binding rings from my stash

Sketch 5 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our challenges, sketch and monthly, in January. We had some great entries. Hope you’ll be joining us again for the Sketch #5 Challenge. Here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

Well, I thought I’d prepare two cards, one stamped and the other one using some pretty papers. Here they are:

sketch challenge 5 I

sketch 5 II

For my first card I used the  VIGNETTE Retro Modern Shapes set which is part of the Vignette Range at STAMPlorations. I first stamped the banner for the sentiment, masked it off and then proceeded to stamp my patterns. I started with the alternating leaf and circle row, then I stamped the purple leaves and finished off with the dark pink ones. To finish I stamped my sentiment (from the Chevrons and Arrows Stamp Set, details below) in dark pink, added some white sequins and pink gem.

For my second card I used the Love and Lipstick papers from All About Scrapping and the Chevron and Arrows set, again from the Vignette Range at STAMPlorations. I printed out the heart patterned paper in three colours, cut them to size, added a couple of punched borders and layered them on a piece of Natural Ivory card. I then stamped and punched out my sentiment, added it to the card, rounded some corners and attached it to my white base card. To finish off I added two tiny hearts and some gems.

Hope you like my cards and feel inspired by them..

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping.

Happy Stamping!!!

Here is what else I used:

first card – all stamps by STAMPlorations, Inks (pretty in pink, certainly celery, wisteria wonder and rose red) from Stampin’Up!, gems and sequins from my stash

second card – stamps by STAMPlorations, papers by All About Scrapping, reverse scalloped border is a left over from punching a daisy ribbon using a Tonic Studio punch, white card and gems from my stash, Zutter round it all corner punch plus the following from Stampin’Up!: looped border punch, Natural Ivory card, owl builder punch (used to punch the tiny hearts) and label punch for the sentiment.

Sorry I had some problems again with the watermark, I couldn’t find the one I saved and had to copy and paste, promise to do better next time. xxx
