Thanks for all your lovely comments on my Butterfly Meadow Post. So glad you like the card.
… and no I am not going all TREKKI and SCIFI on you … but it is a card I have wanted to do for a while, and given that this weeks theme at Out of a Hat Creations is ‘Transport’, I thought now or never.
This one is for my nephew over in Bavaria, who recently discovered the joys of watching DR Who, unfortunately he is not allowed to watch it on BBC iplayer as I so innocently suggested, he hasn’t got a British IP address!!! So I hope this will do the trick.
Nick and I had a real giggle last night when I got about passing an old fashioned phone box off as an even older police phone box, hence ‘series 2’ … which in itself is modelled on BMW’s typing of cars. (BMW roughly translates as Bavarian Motor Industries). I am not so sure it works that well as a joke, but I am sure he’ll see it as one.
Here is what I used: X-cut triboss embossing folder and cogs cutting dies; Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Swirl; LOTV grunge corners stamps; SU feeling sentimental stamp set, night of navy card, night of navy, pool party and island indigo inks; Crafter’s Companion core-dination card; white card and nail heads from my own stash and the sentiment is one I made up on my computer.
Hope you like it. Enjoy!!!
Have a great weekend and
Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
Oops! Just tried out my new WordPress app and hadn’t realized that it immediately posted rather than saving to draft. Also tried to upload the pictures fro my mobile, but couldn’t turn them, will do that tomorrow.
Back to the card. I made it for a friend’s 50th birthday, got quite a few of these this year. Last week it was Dianne, next week it will be Jan and so on … and of course mine will come along at some point too … a sort of coming of age I guess … or is it just time to get younger … hmmm … I might need to muse over this for a while longer.
The card itself is made from a piece of strong double sided paper 12×12″ and that’s including the tags, only the flowers used to embellish the front were stamped on white card. 🙂
Hopefully this edit will post ok, still not too sure about this app.
Anyway will finish the post off tomorrow and treat you to the tea party card I didn’t get round to posting last week for the hatters challenge … see you then. 😀
Well I am back for editing. had to delete and re-insert pictures as I was only able to edit them in the ‘Media library’. there is always something new to learn every day! 🙂
Well here is what I used to make the card: Double sided designer paper (sorry can’t remember the name, but it is a retired Stampin’UP! one), Outlined Occasions Stamp Set from last year’s Sale-a-bration, Everything Eleanor Stamp Set, Concord Crush and Peach Parfait Inks and card stock (both retired) all from Stampin’Up!; Tim Holtz Typeset Sizzix alphabetic strip; Memorybox Classic Number Set cutting dies; Glamour Dust; the sparkling ribbon from my stash
Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
Just another box to share. I made this box to fit a heart-shaped gift for a friend. It is a simple straight forward box with separate lid. I also wanted to use this gorgeous 38mm wide satin ribbon I bought a while ago from Fantastic Ribbons. I love the luxurious look and finish it gives. Apart from the ribbon I used the Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes sizzix die (got it from eBay), Fun Flowers sizzix die and antique brads from Stampin’UP!, cardstock, paper and inks from my own stash.
Looking at the box now makes me think of handmade truffles …. music … big dresses … ballrooms … think I better stop myself before I get too carried away. 😀 Maybe I should enter this in the Hatter’s challenge too … hmmmm … will do.
Hope you all had a nice weekend.
Back soon … until then … Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
first of all thanks for all your lovely comments. They are as always very much appreciated.
For this week’s challenge on ‘Out of a Hat Creations’ I’ve come up with a tongue in cheek interpretation of the theme ‘time’.
This one is for all the ones who don’t have time …
… initially I thought of adding ‘crafting in progress’, but I might keep that idea for some presents … this one will be for my treatment room door.
The reverse side will show ‘Welcome’ as soon the crafting table is cleared ready for the ‘Eclipse’ to cut some letters, the ones from my alphabet dies will be a bit too small. I shall add a picture once it’s ready.
The idea was that there is a time when one welcomes others being open to socialising etc. … and then of course there is a time for crafting, work, meditation etc. simply when one might want to be alone and focus on the task in hand …
Here is what I used: Well Worn Designer Papers, early espresso, cajun craze and river rock card stock, early espresso stamp’n’write marker, cajun craze ink pad, Blossom Party Sizzix die, antique brads and jumbo eyelets (retired) from Stampin’UP!; Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes Sizzix die, Wallflower sizzlits alphabet dies, cream organza ribbon and tea dye distress ink from local craft shop; baker’s twine from Fantastic Ribbons.
Just a short post today, will be back later in the week.
Happy Crafting 🙂
