Christmas in August

August is upon us and dare I say the time when card makers start thinking about making their Christmas Cards. Oh, I know it seems a bit early. In August I like to think of being by the sea, maybe going for a swim, sun bathing on the beach … You get the idea, don’t you?

Maybe, just maybe we can carry some of this sunshine through to Christmas. Well I tried. I also was playing with acetate (window sheets) for my class last week; so I was in the mood for something light and transparent.

This is what I came up with Marina Mist, Acetate and White StazON.

See for yourself

The Whisper White Organza Ribbon finishes it off well. The stamps I used came from the ‘Lovely as a Tree’ and ‘Contempo Christmas’ sets. I stapmed the trees in the background with Marina Mist ink.

Sorry about the glare, but I didn’t know how difficult it was to take pictures of Acetate.  As much as it adds a gloss and richness to cards, the mirror effect is difficult to overcome when photograhing.

Anyway I got another one for you:

For this one I used the ‘Tree Trimmings’ and ‘Comtempo Christmas’ stamp sets, the ‘So Swirly’ Stampin’Around wheel and the Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon. The jewels came from my own stash, you could equally well use some of the Basic Rhinestone Jewels instead. The ‘So Swirly ‘ wheel is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder for extra shimmer.

Well that’s it for today. Enjoy the Sunshine!!!
