Flutter by Butterflies

Hi Everybody,
Got a butterfly card to share with you at Out of a Hat Creations. Hope you like it.

Flutter by Butterflies

This is the updated version of my earlier post. Went to see Les Misrerables at the cinema, shame they don’t do a sing-along version … had to put the CD on when I got home. Needless to say Nick has left the house … gone for a walk, I think … LOL

Back to the card, I really can’t resist butterflies. These ones here are quite delicate. I love the floral pattern, and I am sure they will come out to play very often. Watch this space!!!

Here is what I used: Papillon Potpourri stamp set, Mini Butterfly & Elegant Butterfly punches, Wisteria Wonder & Pink Pirouette card stock and Cherry Cobbler ink all from Stampin’Up!; pink ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; cArt-Us cutting die from Sunrise Crafts, crafts-too embossing folder, peel-off border and gems from my stash.

Enjoy!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Candy Card

Hi Everybody,

back again, and no I don’t want to confuse you. The Candy card is the one I want to enter at Addicted to CAS, where the code word for the current challenge is ‘Candy’.

This one here is also for you Sue, my friend, it uses acetate.

CAS Candy

Well I punched an aperture into white square card and a piece of chocolate wrapping. (Nick very kindly volunteered to eat the chocolate.) I then adhered the wrapping to a piece of acetate and punched the scalloped circle from the acetate/chocolate wrapping. I then stamped the candy on the front and lightly coloured it in from the back using a pink promarker. I then adhered the acetate over the aperture and added a little glitter glue for a crusty sugary effect before finishing off with a dashed line and 3 rounded corners.

I didn’t add a sentiment at this point, more often than not I tend to write them on the inside. I wanted to keep this one clean and simple.

Hope you like it. Thanks for popping in again.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Candi Cards

Hello Everybody,

today I got 2 cards to share. They are made using Card Candi, available from Craftwork Cards.

Here they are:

Candi Blossoms

I just simply stamped a daisy chain using the freebie Candi stamps from Simply Cards & Papercraft’s January issue, coloured them in with promarkers and added a piece of Candi to the centres, finishing off with a little bit of glitter, ribbon and scored lines.

Here is the 2nd card:

Candi Heart

It uses the heart from the same stamp set. I think it looks a bit like a gingerbread heart and the Candi looks as if it is decorated with smarties … maybe I should have drawn some smily faces on them …

Hope you like them.

Back shortly with more …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Owl Greetings

Hello again,

The latest challenge at ‘Out of a Hat Creations’ is Butterflies & Birds, which makes me smile. I have two lovely owl cards I wanted to post today … and owls are birds … never mind that I didn’t manage to post one in time for last week’s challenge which was about texture. Well here they are:

lets start with the one I originally intended for last week …

girly owl

I used a lovely patchwork owl set from Woodware and coloured it in using promarkers. Well you could ‘properly’ patchwork it by either stamping on fabric or paper, cut it out and piece it together for a great effect. I did it once with a patchwork plane and it looked good, actually it won me 3rd price in a competition. Colouring in is just a bit quicker.

The textures which I wanted to go into last weeks would have been the felt hearts, the twine and the embossed tree in the background. I suppose one could have also entered the plastic button :-).

The next card is ideal for the boys in our lives …

boyish owl

… especially if they are Twitter fans …

For the wood grain background I used a Sizzix embossing folder available from Stampin’Up!, the letters on the other piece are actually pre-embossed core’dinations card called ‘core impressions’ which is new at Crafter’s Companion … anything to make life easy.

Again I coloured in with promarkers trying to get a washed-out denim look. I think I am starting to get the hang of it a bit … that’s after they’ve been sitting in my cupboard for 3 years or so before I dared to try shading. It just seemed to be too daunting … but not anymore.

The ribbon is from Fantastic Ribbons, in case you wondered.

That’s it for now … back later with a Clean & Simple Card.

See you soon.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Love is in the Air

Hello Everybody,

apologies for having been a bit offline recently. I somehow didn’t get round to crafting much.

Well first of all I have a super cute Valentine’s Card for you. It is made with the freebie stamp and paper of the current issue of ‘Simply Cards and Papercraft’:

Cute Valentine

Apart from the freebies I used promarkers for colouring; Nellies Multiframes; Memorybox Nottingham Border die; Stampin’Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Poppy Parade cardstock and Word Window Punch; Organza ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons; Black Memento Inkpad and red jewels from my own stash.

I also want to share another card with you today. It is one I intended to enter into a challenge on the Addicted to Clean & Simple Blog, but I didn’t have time to make it before the challenge closed. Well there is always another time …

Anyway here it is:

In my heart & in my soul

I just love this stamp, and best of all it is another freebie and available with the current issue of Creative Stamping.

It is a simple black & white theme with a red glitter highlighted heart. To add that little bit extra, I used some Centura White pearlised card from Crafter’s Companion for one of the layers.

Hope you like it.

Please check out my Stamping Classes, I’ve updated the dates. Back with more cards tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
