ATSM Challenge 97

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

We had some fab entries last week. Thanks to everyone who entered, hope to see you again this week.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #97 – Make your Mark!!!

Another favourite of yours, and I am looking forward to seeing lots of your fabulous creations! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Eureka Stamps is our new sponsor this week! The winner gets 3 digis. There are some fab images in their shop, you can check them out here.

Inspired by the butterfly in their logo, I made the following card using their Butterfly Background image …

Butterfly Background 1

I coloured the three larger butterflies using Promarkers (ivory, pastel beige and bluebell), layered onto a piece of Concorde Crush and then on my Natural Ivory base card (card stock by Stampin’Up!). I finished off by adding a matching blue chiffon ribbon (Fantastic Ribbons) and two sequins (from stash).

TIP: Colouring only part of your stamp adds extra depth.

I really like this Butterfly Background digi as it is very versatile, you can use it as is, chop it up like Danielle, decoupage some of the butterflies …

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Make your Mark’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

… look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

Sending a Hug

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for popping by and leaving me such lovely comments.

I have been invited to be the Guest Sunshine Girl over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog for their Challenge#34 – dies and/or punches.

RoryGuestDesignerBadge

I had the pleasure of choosing one of their Sweet Urchins Images. I picked Rory Love Letters …

here is what I made …

sending a hug

As you can see, I was very lucky as I was able to take my photograph outside in brilliant sunshine on Wednesday.

To show Rory off I decided to use a die-cut frame and some punched hearts on a background of pre-embossed and sanded core-dinations card stock. I sewed the larger hearts onto the card with an utterly wonky line, did some more wonky stitching around the outside, this time without twine before attaching my fuzzy fibers and my Promarker coloured image to which I had added the sentiment and a faux stitched border. You may have noticed that the border seems to have a couple of gaps … it’s a technique I tend to use to add depth and make an image stand out. Next I punched out some smaller hearts, slightly dabbed them onto one of my pearlescent pigment ink pads to give them texture and a subtle sheen and attached them as the finishing touch to my card.

Expect to see more of the super cute lacy Sunshine Images, I got a few more that I haven’t shown off yet. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, please pop over to the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects of their Design Team. The ladies are just so talented at colouring ….

Have a lovely day and Happy Crafting 🙂

Happy Birthday Vicki

even if it is two days late …. Hope you had a fab day!

Hi Everyone,

we are having a belated Birthday Party over at the STAMPlorations Blog for our Teamie Vicki.

Nonni made the fun suggestion of CASEing one of Vicki’s cards as her surprise if we could.

Here is my CASE-Selfie

Vicki's Birthday Card

Well, it’s not a proper selfie more like a montage I made in Paint using a photo Nick took of me on Aberdaron Beach early last year. Here is the card in more detail

Vicki's Birthday card 1

It is based on the card Vicki made for the Sketch #12 Challenge at STAMPlorations, you can see it here.

I used a texture plate with a graphic feel instead of an honeycomb patterned embossing folder for my background. The strip of Washi picks up the blues and greens from Vicki’s card. Hope she’ll like it.

Have a great weekend and

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

I used:

Flower Power Texturz Embossing plate by Sizzix

Sentiment Builder: Happy and Vignette Chevron & Arrows stamp sets by STAMPlorations

Washi tape from Cwt Tatws, my favourite beach cafe/shop in Tudweiliog

Pool Party, Smoky Slate and Rich Razzleberry inks by Stampin’Up!

Sequins and gems from my stash

One Layer Flowers

Hello Everyone,

today I would like to share a card with you which is:

– very quick and easy to make

– very economical to post as it is a one-layer card

– suitable for guys and I’m saying that because I know a few people who struggle using flowers in masculine cards

– very suitable to be entered into the following challenges:

One-Layer Simplicity – Fabulous Flowers

CASology – Flower

Less is More – Flowers

Addicted to CAS – Off the Edge

STAMPlorations – Sketch #12

Happy Birthday

I first inked up my Flower Power texture plate (Sizzix) using a light turquoise ink (Pool Party by Stampin’Up!), aligned my card front with it in such a way that the pattern would run off the edge and pressed down to print the pattern onto my card. I then stamped the splatter pattern from the Holiday Artsy Set by STAMPlorations in green (Wild Wasabi by Stampin’Up!) before adding my sentiments from the HAPPY Sentiment Builder again by STAMPlorations in brown (Chocolate Chip by Stampin’Up!) and the card was finished.

I rather like the graphic circular flower pattern from the texture plate and combined with the green and brown it makes for a great masculine feel.

Stamping with three shades, light – medium – dark, can add an enormous amount of depth without having to use lots of layers.

I took my inspiration for this card from the sketch and some of the projects my teamies made over at the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. As you can see instead of having three lines down I opted for having three rows of flowers, which means the element of ‘three’ is still there.

Today’s project is one to be entered into the Anything Goes challenge #33 over at Lacy Sunshine. It is a very girlie card for you inspired by the window of sunshine we had today.

Seize the Moment

Well I was hoping to capture the essence of the abundance of nature at this time of year. It is also lovely to have the windows and doors open to allow the sunshine into the house ….

Have a lovely day!

ATSM Challenge 96

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #96 – Anything Goes!!!

It is your favourite theme, and I am looking forward to seeing lots of your fabulous creations! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Rick St Dennis is our new sponsor this week! There are some fab images in his shop, you can check them out here.

… and given that there is so much choice of fab images in his shop, I pushed the boat out and made …

a canvas using his Gypsy Wagon image.

Gypsy Wagon on canvas

Well I must admit, the canvas happened by accident. Initially I had planned to make a card, but then disaster struck … I had coloured my image with Promarkers and messed up the background wanting to do too much I guess. This meant I needed to cut the wagon out. Luckily this canvas was already painted (since November last year LOL) using some of the famous PapertArtsy Chalk Acrylic Paints and gesso. I dug out some of my Lavinia Stamps and Versafine Inks and stamped the border and sentiment. Once my image was dry, I sprayed it with Crafter’s Companion’s Spray and Shine varnish for protection, I glued it into position, stamped a couple of more leaves around the wheels, edged the canvas with purple pigment ink and added my little glazed heart as a finishing touch … artwork complete.

Hope that you feel inspired to maybe try something different, maybe pick up some unfinished project and to enter this week’s ‘Anything Goes’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

… look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!

Sketch 12 Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Everybody,

Hope you had a great Easter!

It is time again for another Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations. Thanks to everybody who entered our last sketch challenge. We had some great entries.

We’re also welcoming Debbie as our guest designer for this challenge!!!

… and here is the sketch to take your inspiration from:

This challenge will run until 30th May and the winner will be announced on the 1st June!

Again there is a lot of scope in this sketch as you can see from the fabulous creations of my teamies on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog. I personally came up with the following interpretations using some of the new May Release stamps 😀 …

I am still perfecting my Desktop Grunge Look or shall I say Crafter’s Workspace Grunge hence I made another card in this style using the Thank You Sentiment Builder, VIGNETTE Grunge Floral Strips and Holiday Artsy sets plus the Vintage Icecream Social DSP from All About Scrapping.

May Thank s

I randomly stamped the smaller words from the Thank You SENTIMENT BUILDER onto my base card making sure that the highlighted ‘YOU’ would line up with the corner of my DSP which I had already stamped with two green Gunge Floral Strips and the word ‘THANK’. I edged my DSP with black and attached it to my base card. I then stamped the Grunge Floral Strip again in dark pink on a piece of white card, cut it to size and attached it using 3D foam. I then stamped the splatters and the ring into position, edged the card with black ink and finished off by adding just one sequin.

For my next card I used a simple red-white colour scheme combined with embossing and the new Dare SUBWAY ART BUILDER to make this fresh and cheerful looking card…

DSC_0419

I embossed my white base card using a swirly leaf patterned embossing folder and added some faux stitching. The red core-dinations card is embossed in a floral pattern, sanded and directly layered onto my base card. I then stamped the whole Dare Builder in red onto white card and added some faux stitching before layering as seen. I finished off by adding 3 red gems and a tiny glazed heart.

Despite all the embossing I think that my card still has a CAS feel about it and I’ve decided to enter it into this week’s ‘Flower’ challenge at Less is More.

Hope you like my cards and feel inspired …

Please pop over to the Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects that my DT Teamies have created … and of course … to join in the fun. The winner will receive 3 digital products from our sponsor All About Scrapping and will be invited to be our Guest Designer for one of our Sketch Challenges.

As always there is a twist … Participate in all 3 challenges we host this month and you’ll be in the running to win this lovely set goodies (Cloud9 Design Epoxy Accent Stickers, K&Co. Blue Awning Die-Cut Cardstock Tags, Elle’s Studio Day to Day Tabs,Bella Blvd Crochet Flowers, The Card Co. Funky Lipstick Paper Flowers, and Heidi Grace Printed Flowers) courtesy of our sister shop, All About Scrapping.
Happy Stamping!!! 😀

What else I used

tiny heart – owl punch by Stampin’Up!

floral embossing folder – Sheena Douglass

Happy Birthday Sandie

It’s Sandie’s birthday today and we are having a blogland party ….

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Sandie, happy birthday to you ….

Birthday CAS

What better card to make for the Queen of CAS than a CAS Card.

I simply stamped my splash of colours using Holiday Artsy and Chevron & Arrows sets from STAMPlorations towards the bottom third of my card using Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green (both by Stampin’Up!) and Tuxedo Black (Memento) inks. I then added de-bossed lines at the top and down the two sides, layered it on my base card and finished off by adding a tiny pink heart (owl punch by Stampin;Up!).

I am linking this card to the Birthday Party hosted by Nonni and I am entering it into the ‘Off the Edge’ Challenge at Addicted to CAS (the de-bossed lines are running off the edge, hope this qualifies) and the CASology ‘Splash’ Challenge which is sponsored this week by Shery from STAMPlorations. What a great way for me to help showcase her stamps, I count myself so lucky to be on her design team. If you want to see what we have been up to over there just pop round to our Challenge Blog.

Have a fabulous day Sandie!

hugs

Monika xxx

ps I’ve just seen that I’m in the top 3 at Cardz4Guyz with my CAS Grunge card here. Thought I’d share the good news! 🙂

Just in case you wondered, I’ve changed the look again simply because I wanted a sidebar displayed. The header image is part of a project I made for the STAMPlorations Stamp Release Blog Hop in May 2014 which can be found here.

ATSM Challenge 95

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #95 – Photo Inspiration!!!

Our ‘Boss’ Kylie has chosen a fabulous picture for you to take inspiration from, here it is

Birds, trees, blossom, pink, wood etc, the choice is yours! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet is our new sponsor this week and the winner gets to choose 3 images up to $10 from their store, pop over and have a look … lots of choice!

… and given that there is so much choice in their shop, I made 2 DT pieces for this week …

The first one uses a Hope Jacare image called Birds in a Tree

Birds in a Tree

I simply coloured (Promarkers) and fuzzy cut my image and attached it to a square piece of white card on which I had already stamped my little border (stamp by polka doodles) and sentiment (stamp by Wild Rose Studio). I then simply rounded three of the corners and attached it to my base card. Easy …

My next card uses an Ike’s Art image called Blossom 1

Blossom 1

Again I simply coloured my image using Promarkers, layered it on a piece of baja breeze card (Stampin’Up!), stamped my sentiment (Wild Rose Studio) and layered it on my square base card to which I had already attached my ribbon. Another easy and quick card for you.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Photo Inspiration’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.

… look forward to seeing your creations … and
Happy Crafting!!!!
🙂

Yet More Canvas

Hi Everybody,

today I have another project involving printable canvas for you. This time I cut it, inked up an embossing folder and used it to print onto my piece of canvas without embossing. I simply folded the folder and lightly pressed it between my hands. My original panel was larger and I cut it down to make this card

Canvas birthday

I used the sentiment from the Chevron and Arrows set and the stitching from the Graphic Squares set to stamp my border and sentiment. The flowers from the Eclectic Florals set are stamped on white card, fuzzy cut and slightly shaped. I finished off by adding some sequins, gem and two de-bossed lines. All the stamps I used for this project are by STAMPlorations and a little birdie told me that they’ll have another blog hop soon … watch this space!

Hope you feel inspired, back soon, until then

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
