Birdhouse Clock

Hi Everybody,

just a quick post today to share with you my finished birdhouse Clock. I made it after I saw a tutorial in the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine. It was in a previous issue, but you might still be able to download the templates from their website.

Summer Days

Hi Everybody,

You might remember that I recently started using digi stamps, to be precise some lovely vintage ones from Nicecrane Designs.

Well today I got another tasty vintage card for you using my Nicerane digi stamps, this time with a summery theme.

Summer Days

Luckily the sun came out just in time to take the picture outdoors. We had some very heavy rainfall earlier in the day.

I coloured the girl in using Promarker and Spectrum Noir Pens. The rest of the picture is coloured in using some brushmarkers and blender pen. for this I tend to scribble some brushmarker on an acrylic block and then I pick the ink up with my blender pen to colour in. I find that I get a similar effect to using water colour with this technique. As I am new to using digi stamps, I so far haven’t dared using a waterbrush for colouring given that I only have an inkjet printer and I am a bit afraid that the ink might start running …

I am entering this pretty girl into the anything goes challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. Ohhh, I’ve just seen they are doing a blog hop with some prices up for grabs, so make sure you pop over and join in!!!

The sentiment I used is from Lily of the Valley. Here is what else I used: Nellies Multiframes and Lace Border dies, Memory box Tessatina Border die, Spellbinders Nesties Scalloped Circle dies, Cheery Lynn Fern dies, and from Stampin’UP! I used Sizzix Wood grain embossing folder, Boho Flower Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (small flower). The pretty paper is from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady collection.

Have Fun and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Purrfect Day

Hi Everybody,

back again with another post for another challenge. This time is the ‘Birthday’ one at Addicted to CAS.

Purrfect Day

I basically did some embossing using die-cut the letters, doodled the border, stamped the sentiment and the feline of course. Must have been thinking Tom, hence the colour scheme. Maybe Boris was nudging me on from the other side …

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

… oh by the way, that cool dude of a tom is a stamp by Cactus Annie.

Magic Word

Hello Everybody,

thanks for all your lovely comments. They are very much appreciated.

Today I have been playing with Magic again. Here is my entry for the Pastel Colours challenge over at the Lavinia Stamps Blog:

Magic Word

I used some pastel yellow and green to sponge the background. The pinks I used are in my pastel range of inks, just that they were the darker ones. Hope, it is ok that I went for a Kraft background, I tried it on lighter card, but it just didn’t look right. I felt that the whole picture needed a darker frame to give it more definition.

Enjoy and Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Diamond Cuties

Hello Everybody,

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Today I have a couple of Cuties to share with you. I fancied making a fancy shaped card, especially after Patricia St Martin’s Diamond Origami Fold Card Tutorial landed in my inbox … and it had been sitting there for a while until I finally got to make one or two.

This is what they look like once they are folded up:

Diamond Shaped Origami Cards folded

And here they are opened out:

Birthday Origami FoldHorse Origami Fold

I basically used the same idea and slightly changed the colours. This type of card would be very suited to making some Art Deco cards, as a matter of fact I have one which is work in progress. Maybe I need to go and see ‘The Great Gatsby’ for some added inspiration … hmm … now there is a thought.

Well I used some Lily of the Valley round sentiment stamps and die-cuts, X-Cut looped border punch, Memory Box Nottingham Border die, Tonic Studio flower punches (small flower), Stampin’Up! Mixed Bunch stamp set, Blossom and circle punch, Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle nestabilities dies plus daisy punch, ribbon, buttons, gems, pearls, paper and card from my stash.

Back soon with more crafty bits … until then

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Vintage Scene

Hi Everyone!!!

Back again. This time with my entry for the Picture Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, where last week I became an Honourable Addict with my ‘Wish you were here’ entry.

This week the inspiration for the card needs to be drawn from the following picture:

Garden, Period and Chair stand out to me here. My inspiration is mainly drawn from the chair and I am delighted that I could make such good use of my new Nicecrane Designs Images, at least one of them. Here is my entry:

The Rocking Chair

In reality the colours are somewhat stronger than they appear to be from looking at the picture. I won’t say too much about this card, just that I love the Nicecrane Designs images and please check out their website.

Enjoy and happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Rainbows Everywhere

Hello Everybody,

Back again from a great few days at the caravan. It is always nice to get there even if the weather isn’t so good … and we did have a bit of rain … and yes we saw rainbows … lovely.

Rainbow is also the theme of the challenge at Addicted to CAS. Initially I had made a card before we went away which I intended to enter, just to change my mind once we got back. So here is my entry:

Rainbow Colour Wheel

I die-cut the flower shape and then stamped the little image in alignment with the petals before colouring in using my Spectrum Noir Pens. To finish off I added some faux stitching, gems, a brad and then mounted the whole flower using 3-D foam pads to the front of a square white card blank. For added interest I rounded two corners.

And because I had so much fun playing with this little stamp, here is another one:

Rainbow Colours

The three score lines look a bit dominant on the picture than in reality.

Back soon with my entry for Addicted to Stamps and More

Until then.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

CAS Postcard from France

Hi Everybody,

a super quick one as I am off to the Stamp Fair …

I want to enter the challenges at Out of a Hat Creations, ‘Postcard from France’, and Addicted to Stamps and More, ‘CAS’

CAS Postcard from France

Have a great weekend.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

ohhh all the stamps and inks are from Stampin’UP!

Recycled Picture Frame

Hello Everybody,

my second post for today features a picture frame for the current challenge at Out of a Hat Creations – ‘Picture Frame’. Here it is:

Homemade pictuer frame

The frame is made from a plastic ring which was a left over after the red double sided tape was all used up. I covered it with some Washi Tape before adhering it to the picture which itself is stuck to a piece of chipboard. I then decorated the frame with some punched flowers, die-cut leaves and butterfly plus pearls. The picture can be hung using the ribbon loop which is fixed to the back.

Hope you all had a good Bank Holiday.

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

Wish You Were Here

Hello Everybody,

just a quick post today, the weather is too nice and the BBQ is waiting ….

We have been very lucky this bank holiday weekend, the weather is great, and the beaches are packed. At last we were able to spend some quality time outside.

The flower pots are weed-free and our courtyard garden looks lovely and inviting.

The card I want to share with you today has a bit of a seaside feel too …

Wish You Were Here

It is another entry for the colour challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, just a quick reminder of the colours I needed to focus on Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point by SU (bright orange, pink and blue). I used the Stampin’Up! colours.

I used the three colours to sponge my background on which I stamped the silhouette image using black Versafine ink before framing the ‘picture’ with a die-cut blue frame. I cut a square of blue striped paper, mounted it on a square white card blank and added some pink faux stitching along the edges. I then stamped the ropes, starfish and shell in orange and blue ink and sponged the images for added colour, before cutting out.

The sentiment is stamped on acetate using  black StazOn ink. I then assembled the card as above and added a stamped and cut out seagull to finish.

Enjoy the sunshine!!!

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂
