Our sponsor this week is Deedee’s Digis.

The winner will receive 3 digi sets of their choice.

Here is my DT piece for this week:

Meowy Christmas I

My holiday theme for this week’s challenge is Christmas and I made good use of the Meowy Christmas Set by Deedee’s Digis. In the set you get:

one coloured image, which I used in my card

one layering image, which can also be coloured in

two papers, one of which I used in this week’s card, and

4 sentiments … lots of scope there!

I simply covered my base card using some of the pretty paper from the set. die cut a background shape from yellow card and pricked a border following the shape’s outline. I then fuzzy cut three cats, stamped my sentiments on yellow and green card, cut both to size and pricked some more borders, arranged and layered every into place, added a faux stitched boerder and finished off with some pink gems and glitter.

… a fun card for cat lovers to enjoy …

Hope you like it!

Thinking of Christmas

Hi Everybody,

back again with a quick post. Thanks for your lovely comments!

Christmas is fast approaching and everybody is looking for stocking fillers and gifts. I tend to make some notecards in pretty boxes this time of year. They make great gifts for friends and family. This year I am also venturing into unchartered crafting territory, for me that is, by making some more ambitious projects … well I got them started and shall keep you updated on the progress.

For today it’s notelets and boxes. These are really quick to make and great if you need a good stash of them ready in time for Christmas. Here they are:

pink notelets

… and because it’s so nice in pink …

turquoise notelet

… I made another set in turquoise! 🙂

These are one-layer cards, the background is stamped in the lighter colour and the swirl in the matching darker colour right on top … no masking or layering!!! To finish I simply stamped the sentiment in black and added sequins in a contrasting colour … that was easy … and quick!!!

I would like to enter these cards in the ‘Stamps and Sequins’ Challenge at Stamplorations.

And now to the boxes I made to fit these notelets:

Pink notelet box

… the pink and the turquoise one …

turquoise notelet box

… sorry, the turquoise doesn’t stand out from the blue background, but I hope that you don’t mind …

I cut an aperture in the lid and recycled some acetate packaging to back it. To close the box I simply punched a strip of lace ribbon long enough to for a closed loop, which slides over the box, and decorated it with die-cut swirl and flower … oh, and of course, a matching sequin to finish.

Hope you like it!

Back soon …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

here is what I used:

background stamp from Stampattack

swirl (Everything Eleanor), lace ribbon punch, card and inks from Stampin’Up!

sentiment stamp from Wild Rose Studio

swirl cutting die from Marianne Creatables

Nellie’s multi Frames die to cut aperture from Nellies Snellen

Flower die from Memory Box

white card blanks, black Memento ink and sequins from my stash

Modern Christmas

Hi Everybody,

Thanks soooo much for your lovely comments. Sorry, I haven’t been posting much over the last few weeks, I had a few classes to prepare for and work was a bit busy too.

For today’s post I have some stylish fast makes for you using some images from Nicecrane Designs, I have been working with the Pink & Blue Christmas Collage Sheet. This sheet features 8 background images …

… and here is what I made using them:

As you can see I have mainly used some pretty die-cut shapes to underline the beauty of these background images and to make some stylish CAS cards.

For my 3rd card I stamped the sleigh and trees directly onto the background image to transform it into the main focal point of the card.

For my 6th card I added a stamped and die-cut bauble plus some stamping at the edges of the card.

These are all very quick cards to make. Hope you like them.

Back soon …

Happy Crafting!!! 🙂

ATSM Challenge 72

Hi Everybody,

how time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #72 – Make your Mark!!! The full details of the challenges and their rules can be found here.

The winner will receive one stamp set of their choice.

Here is my DT piece for this week:

Peace on Earth I

This week I tried something new … Metallic Gelato Markers. I was inspired by this tutorial by Lydia Fiedler.

Gelato Pens are soft creamy markers that can be applied directly to your stamp, they can also be used with a water brush to colour in any stamped images. The metallic ones have a subtle shimmer similar to Twinkling H2O’s.

The above card is my 2nd attempt at stamping and colouring. I went for a softer look than in the card below which is my 1st attempt, where the colour for the background/shadow is much stronger.

I decided to attach the image on one side only. This really gives a good impression of a dove in flight flapping it’s wings. A great 3D effect without using foam pads …

Peace on Earth II

… another couple of quick and easy, postage friendly cards!

Hope you like it!

The winner will receive a $12 gift voucher to her store.

Here is my DT piece for this week:

One layer notelet

I have been playing with creating multiple layer one-layer-cards. My challenge was to create multiple faux layers without masking … or I just didn’t feel like stamping and cutting out to create my mask 🙂 …

… but I did use a ready-made mask as a stencil for the dotted background. I place my stencil directly on the card and using some shaving brushes randomly applied pink, green and yellow ink through my stencil to create the multi-coloured dots. I then stamped first the yellow mesh, then the green swirl and the sentiment directly on top. next I stamped the flower in versamark and embossed it with glittery pink WOW embossing powder before adding the silvery outlines using a gel pen. To finish the card off I added some silver glass glitter to the centre of my flower … a quick and easy, postage friendly note card!

Hope you like it!

ATSM Challenge 70

Hi Everybody,

how time flies, it’s Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge #70 – Photo Inspiration!!!

I know you’ll love this one … it’s very sparkly and Christmassy … the picture to take inspiration from… here it is:

… but then of course you could also take the colours only to get your inspiration from or go for some thing non-traditional or starry …

We got a new sponsor this week …. DigiDarla Designs

The winner will get 5 images of their choice.

This week I have several cards for your inspiration. They all are following the Christmassy Theme …

My first one is also non-traditional, and the inspiration came from the colours and the round shape of baubles. There is also a bit of starry sparkle going on. Here it is:

non trad christmas

I am also entering this card into the Addicted to CAS ‘One Layer’ Challenge.

My next one has a more traditional feel to it, and inspiration was taken from the colours and the soft matt surface texture of the baubles which I tried to re-create by using some embossed vellum and matt silver mirror card. The peel off border symbolises tinsel. Here it is:

Fairy Christmas Tree

For my last card I went for a modern traditional feel, if there is such a thing.

Holographic Chritmas Tree

I hope you enjoyed browsing through my cards today.

Sorry about the pictures, I am still working on the lighting for indoor pictures during heavy downpours … 🙂
