ATSM Challenge 120

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #120 – Photo Inspiration!!! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

Kylie has chosen another great photo to take inspiration from, here it is:

There is lots of scope here, you could go with the bauble, stars or general Christmas theme or choose any of the colours in any combination. The photo looks really crisp and clean which would make CAS an option too, curls and swirls from the ribbon, a bow …. it’s up to whatever inspires you.

Here are my DT pieces for our Photo Inspiration Challenge …

red holly

green holly with bauble

They are a sort of two for one, when it comes to the holly. I simply die cut the holly from green card and then pieced the ‘left overs’ on a pice of red card to create my topper for my first card. To finish off i added some pearls, a bow and a golden peel-off sentiment.

For my second card, I attached my holly to a piece of designer paper, added a die cut bauble made up of a die cut circle with filigree bauble layered on top, stamped my sentiment and finished off with a gem, bow and some golden glitter glue.

Kathryne from StampArt Design is back with us again this week as our sponsor,

and the winner will receive 5 digis from her store.

Here it is my DT piece for our Make Your Mark Challenge …

Spunky with cupcake

The adorable SPUNKY THE MOUSE, one of Kathryne’s images, is back with us too this week. This time we weren’t making cheese, Spunky told me he had developed a sweet tooth of late hence we simply baked cupcakes instead. I coloured him and my stamped cupcake (SKETCHED Cupcake by STAMPlorations) using Promarkers, fuzzy both and entwined them a little. For my stamped background I inked up a couple of stamps (Mini Mixed Media by STAMPlorations) one in Crumb Cake and the other one in So Saffron (both by SU) and stamped them onto white card. I then added the stamped stitching (PATCHWORK FRENZY Graphic Squares by STAMPlorations) and edged my panel using Chocolate Chip (SU), attached Spunky and his cupcake, stamped my sentiment, attached my panel to the inside of my card and added some gems and glitter glue before creating the front panel of my card …

Front of Spunky with cupcake

Yes, this is what the front of my card looks like. I first stamped my cupcake on the card and masked it off before continuing stamping in the same way as for my inside background. I then removed my mask and added some colour to my cupcake using watercolour pencils before edging my panel and attaching it to the card front.

… and because I liked my card front so much, I turned it into another card with a video tutorial here ….
cupcake, feel better

Patchwork Flower and February Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hi Everybody,

thanks so much for all your lovely comments, they were very much appreciated.

It’s the first Friday of the month, and that means it’s Challenge Time at STAMPlorations!!! The new monthly Challenge starts today and the theme is ‘Stamps and Stitches’. It will run until the 28th February and the winner will be announced on March 4th.

Here is my DT piece  to inspire you:

Patchwork Flower

I used the Graphic Pentagons set from the PATCHWORK FRENZY range to create my flower and one of the stitching stamps from the Graphic Squares stamp set from the same range to stamp the border. This card is very easy to make. I started with stamping the flower center followed by the petals plus 5 extra pentagons on a separate piece of card. I then stamped the stitching in the same colour around my petals, placed the sentiment slightly curved on an acrylic block before stamping it as the flower’s stem. I then cut out the 5 shapes, edged the edges with ink and shaped them each into a slight dome, before layering them on top of the already stamped petals for a quilted look. TIP! You only need one piece of 1mm thick 3-D foam pads in the middle, using anything thicker unfortunately will not give the same effect. I stamped the border, layered it on my base card and finished off by adding some gems to my flower center.

Now to the prize for the monthly challenge:

The winner will receive two clear stamp sets from the VIGNETTE or PATCHWORK FRENZY range and will be invited as guest designer for next month’s challenge!!!

We also have another twist … STAMPlorations hosts 3 challenges a month … one monthly and two bi-weekly sketch challenges … and if you enter all three challenges in a month, you will be entered into another draw to win a prize package from All About Scrapping. More details about how often you can enter and the draw itself can be found on the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog.

The Prize Pack for February is:

1 package of Nantucket Wood Shapes (Pink Paislee), 1 package of Mixed Half Circle Chipboard Banner Album (Maya Road), 1 package of Winter’s Roses – Aquamarine (Maya Road), 1 package of  Tranquility Sunflower Metal Slides (Maya Road), and 1 package of Mulberry Paper Flowers.
Hope all of this has inspired you to join into our challenges at STAMPlorations. You can always find a link to the current challenges at the top of the STAMPlorations’ Homepage!
See you there and …
Happy Stamping!!! 🙂
