STAMPlorations Blog Hop Day 5

Hi Everybody,

I know it’s a while since I posted on Monika’s Blog as most of my posts are over on TinkerCards now, but since it is Blog Hop Week at STAMPlorations, I thought I’d post here too. 🙂

Today we, the STAMPlorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: A Girl and Her Shoes

stmp1095.jpeg

As soon as I saw this set, I fell in love with the boots and felt I had to do something with a map. The question was, which colour to use for the boots.

I stamped them out to start, something I tend to do when I am not quite sure is to start anyway, and that’s when it hit me, they had to be red! Well, what can I say, they simply started walking to create this card here, and then for today’s card they arrived in TURKEY. God knows where they’re now, I shall keep you posted once I caught up with them.

I used a shaped border die to cut my map, recycled from last year’s diary, attached it to my base card, added my sentiment and fuzzy cut red boots, and the card was finished!

Check out what the rest of the team made! You’ll find links to all our projects here.

I’ll be back again tomorrow with more inspiration, and then on Sunday it’s time for our new feature

STAMPlorations Blog Hop Day 4

Hi Everybody,

I know it’s a while since I posted on Monika’s Blog as most of my posts are over on TinkerCards now, but since it is Blog Hop Week at STAMPlorations, I thought I’d post here too. 🙂

Today we, the STAMPLorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: The Bee’s Knees Newlyweds Extras and Sentiment Builders: Love

stmp1092.jpeg  stmp1091.jpeg

For today’s project I made a CAS card using Sentiment Builders: Love

First I stamped the two hearts and embossed them in white. I then masked the top bit off and blended yellow and pink inks. I removed the mask and stamped my sentiment into place before rounding the corners, layering on my base card and finishing off by adding a few gems.

I would like to enter this card into the CAS challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More, STAMPlorations is sponsoring this week. 🙂

My next card is another CAS card, this time with a birthday theme, using the The Bee’s Knees Newlyweds Extras and VIGNETTE Chevron & Arrows. This is one I want to enter in the current CASology challenge, which STAMPlorations is sponsoring too.

I went back to basics and used coloured inks to stamp the bouquet and sentiment before rounding a couple of corners, layering on my kraft base card and adding some gems to finish.

STAMPlorations Blog Hop Day 3

Hi Everybody,

I know it’s a while since I posted on Monika’s Blog as most of my posts are over on TinkerCards now, but since it is Blog Hop Week at STAMPlorations, I thought I’d post here too. 🙂

Today we, the STAMPlorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: The Bee’s Knees Newlyweds

stmp1093.jpeg

I decided to make a Wedding card in soft pastel tones, here it is:

I softly blended one side using a light shade of turquoise and randomly stamped the small bouquet from the Newlyweds Extras set down the same side using the same pale turquoise ink. I then attached my fuzzy cut couple, which I had previously used as mask when I made this card here hence the golden splatters, stamped my sentiment, layered it all on my white base card and added a few gems to finish.

Check out what the rest of the team made! You’ll find links to all our projects here.

STAMPlorations Blog Hop Day 2

Hi Everybody,

I know it’s a while since I posted on Monika’s Blog as most of my posts are over on TinkerCards now, but since it is Blog Hop Week at STAMPlorations, I thought I’d post here too. 🙂

Today we, the STAMPLorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: Bold Sentiments: Hashtag Authentic

stmp1090.jpeg

Don’t you just love these grungy words!? I had to put them into an artsy context. The idea for this card came when I was playing with Brushos and created this almost heart shaped image …

I had spritzed a piece of card with water before sprinkling Brushos on, the heart shaped pattern happened by itself. I then waited for it to dry, gold embossed ‘Authentic’, stamped the word ‘be’ in black and attached my punched out heart before layering it all on my white base card and finishing off with a few sequins.

STAMPlorations Blog Hop

Hi Everybody,

Today we, the STAMPLorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: The Bee’s Knees: Houses

stmp1094.jpeg

These wonky houses are great, you can use them on their own or build little street scenes with them and use them any time of year, that’s including Christmas!

Here is my house-y card

I die-cut my fluffy cloud border, stamped and coloured my house, layered it on my base card, stamped my sentiment, rounded one corner and finished off by adding twine, charm and sequins. This could be an easy and quick New Home card.

Apart from The Bee’s Knees: Houses I used the ‘sweet’ sentiment from Sugar Rush.

Last Minute Stocking Fillers

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Today I want to share some quick last minute presents with you. I made these for some friends using the Sugar Rush set by STAMPlorations and some pretty papers I had. They also form part of today’s Spotlight Feature over on the STAMPlorations Blog, where you an find a more detailed description on how I made them.

I wanted to give these calendars the feel good factor and went with a summery theme and a slight retro feel. There are some variation in colours and layout, like on my first one the ‘sundae’ sentiment is black embossed to make it stand out more …

2015 calendar 1

whereas in my second one here I played more with different colours for the ice cream and the sequin sprinkles. The papers have also a slightly different tone of colour.

2015 calendar 2

For my last one I used a different stamp and gems instead of sequins, all little ways of making each one of them unique whilst still keeping roughly the same layout.

Looking forward to 2015, I shall be making some changes in as much that I shall be moving away from WordPress for my blogging. I have decided to use my TinkerCards Blog instead, mainly because I want to streamline things a bit more. Commenting has become a little difficult recently, and I had to use my google account instead of WordPress to be able to leave comments and stay in touch. Things like this can get a little confusing hence I decided to move over to blogger completely. I know, it has its hiccups too, but at least I want to give it a go.

For the time being this will still be work in progress as I am planning to make changes to the template and layout plus moving some of my posts from here across too.

Thanks to everybody who followed me on Monika’s Blog, I hope that you will pop over to TinkerCards and follow me there too plus you will have Tinker, the black virtual cat, to play with whenever you visit. :-). I shall be putting up a blog candy, a calendar similar to the ones above, and a winner will be drawn from among my followers on the TinkerCards Blog at 10 am (GMT) 30th December 2014. 12 noon GMT on Sunday 4th January. I extended the deadline because ever since I decided on the move over to my TinkerCards Blog, I had been looking for the Google Friend Connect button and finally found it!!! YAY! Given that it has taken me so long to find the little gadget I am extending the Blog Candy, one of my hand made calendars, deadline until Sunday 4th January 12 noon GMT. I shall be drawing two lucky winners of one calendar each. This should give you all plenty of time to join and follow me on TinkerCards.

Until then,

Have a lovely Christmas!

hugs

Love You Like Coffee

Hi Everybody,
Thanks so much for your lovely comments, they were very much appreciated.
Today I have a coffee & doughnut card for you. It is one that I want to share over at the Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop hosted by Amy Tsuruta.

OK, I know it’s not a christmassy card, it has more of an old-fashioned tea room/coffee house feel to it. For me coffee and any type of cake always go well together….
Here it is

image

I loosely played with the current sketch from the STAMPlorations Sketch challenge for my layout. I stamped, part coloured and paper pieced my doughnuts slightly offsetting the icing to add more depth before fuzzy cutting them. I heat embossed and fuzzy cut my coffee cup and then stamped my sentiment in black archival ink directly on a piece of vellum. I finished by layering all my elements as shown and finished off with some punched red hearts, sequins and a touch of glossy accents.
Make sure you pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to leave a comment. Shery has lots of goodies and prizes lined up for you to win during this hop.
That’s it from me for today, back again soon with more inspiration. Until then
Happy Crafting!!! 🐱

Going Festive

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, so glad you liked my artsy Christmas cards. Today I’m getting into the festive spirit by looking at quick and easy table decorations using the new VIGNETTE Eat Drink Be Merry set. When I first saw this set I knew it was perfect for adding that finishing touch to any festive table hence we are making place cards and napkin rings, a couple of projects you can quite easily mass produce even for larger parties. It should only take you a couple of hours. Well it took me a lot less because this year we’re having a quiet Christmas with a little self-pampering to make it special.

Here are today’s projects:

Before I go, just a quick reminder about the STAMPlorations DT call, if you’re interested in joining this amazingly creative team, check out the details here.

Also the new STAMP CLUB sets are out soon, one of which I’ll be using in tomorrow’s project ….

ATSM Challenge 124

Hi Everybody,

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. They were all very much appreciated.

It is Wednesday again and time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More …  Challenge #124 – CAS!!! Please take the time to check out the full details of the challenges and their rules, which can be found here.

This week it’s Team A’s turn, and here are my pieces of inspiration for you:

wpid-dsc_1036.jpg

This first one is really easy to make plus I was able to use a couple of never used before tools one of which I’ve had for about 3 years! I simply die-cut a piece of white card in half using one of my new Lil-inkers Border Builder dies from Make The Day Special. I then punched the angel from one of the pieces, stamped my sentiment (Christmas Flower by STAMPlorations) in Pool Party (Stampin’UP!), attached the pieces of white to a piece of light turquoise card and then to my base card before finishing off by adding a dashed line and gem.

For my next two cards I put my artsy experimenting hat on …

wpid-dsc_1035.jpg

… I have often wondered why STAMPlorations Holiday Artsy set is called Holiday Artsy, graphic for which will be at the end of the post. Well I guess I figured it out now by creating a Christmas Tree using the brush stroke stamps from the set.

To start I inked up one of my acrylic blocks and stamped it on a piece of white card. This block of mine has a little ridge around one of the sides which gave a nice frame. I then placed the brushstroke on my block inking them up individually as I went along finishing off with the little circle at the top before stamping the tree inside my frame. I then added the half circle and sentiment before finishing off with some sequins and touches of glitter glue.

For my next card, I changed the colours (Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar by Stampin’Up!) and heat embossed my sentiment in copper. I also added a touch of glamour by spraying some of my favourite Gold Artiste Spritzing ink (docrafts) over my panel.

wpid-dsc_1037.jpg

That’s my inspiration for you today …

Kathryne from StampArt Design is back with us again this week as our sponsor,

and the winner will receive 5 digis from her store.

Hope that you feel inspired to enter this week’s ‘Photo Inspiration’ challenge at ATSM, please pop over and see all the other creations of the fabulous ATSM DT Team.
Happy Crafting!!!!
